Collaborate with the Drupal community

This site serves the Drupal community by providing a place for groups to organize, plan and work on projects. Real world local user groups (sometimes called meetups) and regional Drupalcamps in particular are encouraged to setup their online presence here.

E-Commerce v3.0-beta3 has been released.

Over the last couple of weeks since beta 2 was released all the E-Commerce maintainers have been working extremely hard to fix all the bugs, (and there was a lot of them) and get out a new Beta to allow people to continue testing.

As you can see from the http://drupal.org/cvs, 4 of the 5 E-Commerce maintainers are in the most active developers list, with the last one being there a few days ago. Also you will see that the E-Commerce project is the most project ATM.

Hosted install profiles call

Hello, CivicSpace has begun announcing our new hosted install profiles ASP. We are interested in doing a call to explain how hosted profiles work.

  • Hosted profiles include pre-configured modules, pre-installed content, pre-configured blocks, pre-configured menus.
  • Hosted profiles include pre-configured CiviCRM contacts, mail newsletters, donation pages.
  • Hosted profiles include the ability to update the profile for existing sites. Add a new module, configure the module, change default settings, menus, blocks etc.

Video content in Drupal today

Hello,

Just to start with something I want to share my own experience with video in Drupal. Here is what I've found and studied after a couple of months fighting with tasks related to video content.

The first module was, of course, video.module. It is a big and powerful module. I loved it a lot for its features but, nevertheless, I was slightly disappointed because of several reasons (to be short):
1. Video node can't be flexibly extended unless you patch the module (at least when I was trying it).

Discussing Growth: DrupalDojo.com/net/org?

UPDATE: I made a mistake and had comments turned off. Please comment on this! I want your feedback and discussion!

In just six weeks, this group has really taken off, and I have been extremely pleased and excited by the response from the community, and by people's willingness to jump in and help out.

I think we're doing a lot of valuable work. We've got an excellent core group and a process for having "lesson" events that seems to really provide value, especially given the excellent work that so many of you have done to create screencasts and written documentation after the fact. So thank you all once again for your participation.

The topic of the day is growing pains. There was much discussion of this in Sunday's CoffeeTalk discussion, which I was thrilled to see take on a life of its own without my participation.

There are several points I would like to cover, not least of which is what (if anything) to do with the domains drupaldojo.com, and .org, which Squidster took the initiative to acquire, and .net which is owned by Senpai. Read on for my thoughts on this, including a pretty graph!

Tutorial: A dynamically expanding AJAX/AHAH Drupal form

I have spent the last couple of weeks trying to figure out how to cleanly do dynamic forms with incremental page updates. I have put together an example module which is available for download. I have also put together a tutorial that explains my technique and the issues I ran into. I am interested in hear what people think of my approach.

Drupal Users Attending SXSW?

Only local images are allowed. Is there any interest in finding a night Drupal users lucky enough to be in Austin during SXSWi can get together?

SXSW is my favorite conference. I leave Austin both energized and exhausted every year. In addition to putting together great keynotes and panels, there is plenty of time to mingle with other geek speakers at the evening events. I don't know if it's the weather (Austin is a great place to be in March!), the food (the Iron Cactus serves a deep fried Jalapeño ribeye!), or the free (as in beer) beer, but I'm always inspired after meeting so many people working on such creative, interesting projects.

Revision tagging now a reality.

The code got a bit messed up from the marksmarty filter (would be nice to have a simple input filter). Here it is as an attachment. You have to download it and then remove the .txt file ending (and then unzip it). What hoops we jump through :p

How to Succesfully Incorporate Eclipse IDE into a Drupal Workflow

I have successfully set up Eclipse IDE with the the Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) and PHPeclipse. I have also followed the guides at http://dev.civicactions.net and the guide aimed at how to Configure Eclipse to use Drupal Coding Standards. Everything is running fine and I am using the new environment on my current project. But now what do I do?
