Let's do lightning talks at our meeting next Tuesday. Essentially, that means folks will volunteer to give a 5 to 10 minute demo on anything Drupal. No presentation materials required but we will have a big screen you can hook your laptop up to if you want to do a demo. You can talk about a module you like, an issue you had building a site, an idea for a drupal module project etc.

Drupal KC is Kansas city community drupal group. Drupal Developers at all levels in the Greater Kansas City area are welcome and encouraged to join.
This is the first of many meet-ups to come. We hope to have regular monthly meetups in Kansas City to discuss how Drupal is being used and learn from one another.

Post-installation: Default Data Scripts
Hi Techies--
I've installed Drupal on 2 different servers. On one I remembered to click on the checkbox for installing the default data. On the other, I did not. Other than that, the installation went fine. Does anyone know which script dumps the default stories, menus, etc. into the mySQL data schema? I'd hate to re-run an install script if I could just run a *.sql script from phpAdmin or a *.php from cpanel.

I am building a new drupal site and need to import my existing LDAP users in order to fully configure the system and set up the content. AFAIK there is no way of importing existing LDAP users into drupal. When I use LDAP Provisioning, it wants to create LDAP users as well as Drupal users. When a user logs in for the first time, their LDAP information is imported. But I need to mass import all existing LDAP users without requiring them to login the first time.

Reminder to Sign up for the Drupal KC meetup
Several people have indicated to me that they will be attending one or both of the Drupal KC events next week, yet very few people have signed-up for an event. Lots of people are registering for the site, just one more step to sign up.
You are not required to sign up to attend the meetup but it would really help plan for space and seating arrangements. Most importantly I need to know how many beers to order.
