The Louisville group is a semi-organized group for Drupallers in and around Louisville, KY. We have the seeds of a great local group and plenty of local web development talent to tap into. It's about time we connected, collaborated, and started to grow the Drupal presence around town.
Louisville Drupal Meetup @ Highland Coffee
Here it goes folks!
Looks like we are having our first meeting in over a year? It is exciting to see folks such as 1kenthomas reaching out with interest here in Louisville & breathing new life into this group!
There are no clear goals for this meeting other than introducing ourselves and creating general discussions around Drupal. Afterwards, if we would like to setup another meeting that would be stellar!
This event had already been planned in advance, however I am just now getting around to creating the event officially on the day of, shame on me :(

Your invited to our 4th annual DrupalCamp Chicago Saturday Dec 10th 2011.
Why DrupalCamp:

We have helped build bridges from nonprofits and entrepreneurs looking to deploy Drupal to resourceful Drupal development companies, independent consultants and hobbyists in the Chicago area and across the midwest.

So, we have a lot of Drupal Camps going on in the Midwest this year. This is a GREAT thing! It means the local communities are getting strong enough to start hosting these camps. I know this year our camp could have been a lot larger, our venue this year was big enough to handle something MUCH larger, but as I'm sure a number of others out there are experiencing some balance of sponsors, speakers, and attendees that may or may not already be committed to another Drupal Camp.

Last year we had THREE Drupal teams rocking and showing off how awesome Drupal is.
We have Matthew Connerton making a repeat appearance all the way from Asheville NC.
I'd love to see at least three teams again. We already have a lot of .net ppl volunteering and we have a LOT of charities fighting to win a free website or a major website upgrade. A couple of them are actually needed applications built for a desktop.
We need Designers [ppl who can push pixels around, make some buttons, logos, gradients, etc]

DrupalCamp Columbus 2011 at OLF CANCELLED
Cancelled
Due to a miscommunication between me and the OLF organizers this event is not taking place.
Once the OLF team turns their attentions towards 2012 we will regroup and submit a timely, well prepared proposal that meets all of their requirements.
My sincere thank you goes out to the OLF team for their efforts to try and squeeze us in at the last minute. We'll do this right next time and stand a better chance of making it in. Understandably, everyone wants to get in on the fun at OLF. I look forward to helping make this happen next year!

Louisville Drupal Meetup - July 6, 2011
We have discussed meeting the first Wednesday of every month, so to stay true to that I have set the meeting for Wednesday July 6th 7:00pm @ TBA.
If there are any serious objections we can change time and date accordingly, so far this seems to work for everyone.
Let's open a discussion around what we would like to cover in the meeting.
Personally I would like to discuss:
Out a mission objective for our group as a whole and how we want to impact our local community as well as the Drupal community.
Drupal for Non-Profit Organizations
I work with a non-profit organization who has just taken over control of its own web site after a few years of being run by a local bar (don't ask). We're looking at a complete redesign of the site (and by we, I really mean I). In particular, we're looking at the following key features.
- LDAP integration
- Mailing lists and/or newsletters
- Commerce, including merchandise, gift store, donations
- User profiles (possibly to showcase members, contributors, sponsors, etc.)
Louisville Drupal Meetup - June 1, 2011
Over pizza an fried Oreos (don't ask) at Spinelli's, we decided to try for a regular meetup of local Drupal users, developers, and business owners / managers. We'll aim for the first Wednesday of each month but will leave options open to adjust the date / time as necessary.
