Nigeria

This group is a Not-for-Profit IT support group that would enable free flow of support and exchange of ideas in the Nigerian Open Source community. This we hope will help those of us that have benefited so much from the community to give back to the community that has helped our work so much. Events shall be organised from time to time by the group. The goal of this group is to foster the local community, provide local support and to allow the local Drupal industry to grow.

The three core roles of Drupal Nigeria User Group will be

• Education
• Support
• Socializing

This group is restricted to Nigerians or Drupal users (or interested users) in Nigeria.

Problem with creating content on remote drupal installation

Hey everyone,

I just encountered a problem with a remote drupal installation that i am working
on and i can't seem to figure a way out.

First of all once logged in, the drupal does not show/display the administer block.
hence i can't click to create any content and as a result i have to know some
kind of address bar description to the create content page.

On a most recent occasion, i managed to modify an existing page. It turned out i could view the page after
saving it and while still logged in. On a following day when i tried to view it as an anonymous user , it had

Strengthening open source in Nigeria

Firstly, this discussion is inspired by a discussion I had with Abayomi Ayoola (murpheus) about LinuxFest event we intend to organize in Nigeria.

The discussion goes like this:

[9/9/2010 2:08:12 PM] Abayomi Ayoola: and they would be glad to sponsor LinuxCon or LinuxFest in Nigeria
[9/9/2010 2:08:25 PM] Kayode Odeyemi: cool
[9/9/2010 2:08:45 PM] Kayode Odeyemi: so what's your plan
[9/9/2010 2:31:56 PM] Abayomi Ayoola: I think they usually cover the whole event

Translating Drupal to Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo

Hello everyone, I'm glad I found this group.

I'm sure some of you Drupalers are interested in having Drupal in Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. Well, I've started a project on it and I'll love people to join. I am using Google Translator Toolkit to achieve this as Google does not yet support interface translation for Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.

Please read this to know how to contribute to the project.

Glad I found this group

Was actually about to create a group for Nigeria but decided to use the search first, and glad I did. It's good to know that there are drupalers in Nigeria and I hope that we can connect and share and collectively improve web apps in Nigeria. I currently work in the University of Benin and my blog has been here.

Here are some of my most recent Drupal projects :

http://unibenpress.com/

blockquote>Bad news is always good news for the press. And so Vaughan Pyre has decided to take advantage of this and create a web site that will aggregate bad news and weird happenings from all over the world. The content of the site will be entirely derived from RSS feeds from several sources; each feed being automatically fetched and its items displayed as individual articles on the web site. Vaughan's intention is to create a lot of self-updating web sites which he intends to populate with Google ads for site users to click and click so that he can make a lot of money.
