One can have incredibly elaborate , yet very open sites (including providing the absolute maximum openness for Anonymous Comment and posting) and still have excellent security and a complete absence of SPAM.
Amazing. As I said, belatedly, in response to an old discussion:

Re: Drupal (on mySQL update) lost ability to authenticate (title corrected)
Since my lunarpages admins have upgraded the mySQL DB installation, my site home page now looks like this: http://mynichecomputing.org/drupal6/ (take a look; it is now an error page, suggesting procedures).
I have now twice tried the Drupal-suggested procedure, SET PASSWORD = PASSWORD('your_existing_password');
Though I give this SQL command in the ONLY place it makes sense '
to do it in phpMyadmin ,
all this does is disable my ability to get into phpMyadmin and has

We're looking for session proposals for TC Drupal Camp 2013.
http://2013.tcdrupal.org/schedule/proposed-sessions
Last year we got some feedback that there was a shortage of "beginner" sessions. I did some checking around for beginner topics listed at other Drupal Camps and created this list of session ideas.....
Sharing a list of possible topics. Please, feel free to steal these ideas and submit your own session.
If there are any of these sessions that you'd like to see at Drupal Camp, post a note here to inspire someone to propose it?

Read moreTheme trouble after Drupal 7 update
Hi all,
I'm updating a site from 6.23 to 7.22 for the first time in a while. Now that I've run the update, none of the 'out-of-the-box' themes seem to work. All the content is there, but none of the color, graphics, or correct fonts are used. (See attachment.)
I'm pretty sure I've run into this before, but I'm blanking on the resolution. Can someone jog my memory?
TIA!

I run a local soccer club website: http://www.minneapolisunited.org/. Uses Drupal 6, but hope to switch it over soon to D7.
I have a little Playing Field notice in the upper right, a View with attachments displays a series of Playing Field Notice content type. These have radio buttons to select a status.
A View on the Front has attachments and rewrites some Fields using Replacement patterns, etc, to display the notice.
So when the games or whatever are rained-out, the Site editor would go in and edit the particular node and change the Radio selection to "Canceled".

The site was generating an error that suggested a permissions problem with the database. The database for the site was also a bit larger than the allocated space provided by the ISP.

Come to work alongside other developers, but please don't be offended if folks leave to focus on getting their work done for the day.
