Hey -

I am looking at setting up a way for my newspaper site to handle "photo essays" or articles that are simply a collection of still photos.

I have played with Views and the Views Slideshow module and achieved the desired end result, however that will work for a one-time configuration. I am looking for a solution that will support multiple "photo essays" that are added on the fly to the site...

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

SlideShow Pro

We use a commercial product called SlideShow Pro (http://slideshowpro.net/) We use both their player as well as their image management server product called Director. They are both cheap. There is a module to help integrate it into your Drupal site. http://drupal.org/project/ssp however, I just ended up integrating it at the theme level and added one custom field in CCK to make it all work together for us. It is a fantastic product IMHO.

If you're using D6, take a look at Node Gallery

http://drupal.org/project/node_gallery (no D7 version yet).

It creates a bunch of views, so you can customize the way galleries look.

If you aren't going to have a ton of photos in each, here's a possible way:

1) Create a node type of "photo essay" or similar.
2) Add an image field with unlimited
3) For the display, choose colorbox with thumbnails going to big (after installing the module if you don't have it already)

Then you just create a node whenever you need a new essay, add the images, and there you go. :)

Thanks Michelle!

This is what I was looking for, hoping for.

I have a content type created with an unlimited image field...I can't seem to set the display to the colorbox though...
