The Community page of drupal.org needs more of a 'human' feel to it, and we've had so many great Drupal event t-shirts over the years (and some of us have stylish new Drupal t-shirts from renewing DA memberships).
Do you think a photo collection of community members in their t-shirts could be useful for marketing the Drupal community, and making the Community section more appealing? The community section needs some reworking, see issue http://drupal.org/node/1288470
I could make a Flickr group that anyone could add photos too (no doubt, many photos already exist!).
Thoughts?
Lisa
PS Crossposted to a couple groups; not really the perfect group for this type of idea!

This is a great idea
This is a great idea Lisa.
And using a flickr group makes it easy - do you also want to ask people to make sure they license the images CC so we can reuse them legitimately for all kinds of Drupal outreach and promo?

"This is a photo collection of people in our stunning and well-designed Drupal t-shirts.
The photos are being collected to appear on Drupal.org and in other Drupal promotional and marketing efforts."
These are my ideal types of photos for this group:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nidhug/5318758364/ (this one rocks, actually!)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/elstudio/3655991498/
These less so
http://www.flickr.com/photos/pratulkalia/3904335617/ (difficult to read logo)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/jdschroeder/2643371364 (subject not smiling)
I included these (any feedback on the guidelines?)
Photos should meet the following guidelines:
1) Images should be well-lit and in focus
2) The Drupal t-shirt should face the camera and be easily read or identified
3) In general, photos from the waist/chest upwaards are better, so it's easier to see the t-shirt
4) And most importantly, photo needs to licensed as Creative Commons, so that it can be re-used.
Would anyone else like to be a co-moderator?

Great idea, community page
Great idea, community page definitely needs some 'human' feel (like http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/).
I could help with co-moderation if you need.
Sure!
What's your Flickr username?

Fantastic idea!
I need to remind myself that next time I travel to some exotic locale, I should wear the Drupal t-shirt. :P

Official Drupal Flickr Group
Hi,
This has been kept a little quiet (by me) so that we get some few nice photos up before it is announced.
http://www.flickr.com/groups/2382198@N24/
The idea is to celebrate the very best moments and achievements in Drupal. We are asking that images have a good description and are CC licensed so that the images can be used by others in blogs, marketing etc.
All images are approved before being published, the group is under the ownership of the DA but I am running it.
Hope you like it and perhaps will contribute.
