Does anybody on the forum have any experience with the VMIX online video platform (http://www.vmix.com)?
Would it be something that is easy to integrate into a Drupal site?

We did this
When I was at McClatchy my team developed a Drupal integration for VMIX extending the Embedded Media Field module.
This is the only example I could find still on line: http://heritage.islandpacket.com/videos/2008-opening-ceremonies
We were using it a lot when I was there, but things have fallen into disrepair.
At the time, their API was brand-new and in constant flux, but I'm hoping that it's more straightforward now. I could get in touch with the folks that own the code (the guy that developed this and I both left the company a year ago).
I also wrote the little embed link generator as a separate drupal module.
It's for Drupal 5 only though.

I just checked and, on the surface at least, VMIX has what they call a "Comprehensive API Library" (http://www.vmix.com/apis.php).
But, yeah, any more information on it would be great.
The examples of VMIX implementations on various sites I have seen haven't been great and I'm wondering if it's to do with it being difficult to work with.

Yes, that's correct. I was not referring to VMIX. Since they're still around more than a year later, they must be doing something right. I'd hope that their API is stable at this point.
Let me see if I can dig up the code and that the folks involved are cool with me sharing it. It might not be usable out of the box, but it could point you in the right direction.
