Zen primary links and i18n multi-language tabs

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am running Drupal 6.10 with Zen classic theme on a multi-lingual site and can not get the primary links to work with different languages. Is this possible? If so, please let me know how.
