When one searches for a Japanese group, we end up with a one line search result the "Japan" group. Now some of us have expressed why do we need more than one group? But the fact is other countries with more developed Drupal communities have Drupal groups all over their country, and spanning over different Drupal topics. groups.drupal.orgで「Japan」と検索を掛けるとJapanグループが一つだけ検索結果として返ってきます。Drupalが浸透してる国などではいろんな地域や勉強会のグループがある中、果たして日本にグループがここで一つというのはいろんな意味で大きな日本コミュニティーを作るという目的を達成するのに適してるのか話し合いたいと思います。大きくなれる小さな器がいくつかある方がいいのか、今は大きな器一つがいいのか？
I can think of a number of groups that could be started by us right away. The reason? to create a foundation for a bigger community. Some kinds of groups we can start right away are The Tokyo Group (maybe unnecessary), The Kansai Group (I see opportunities here), The Ubercart J group (can be started at anytime), and what I would like to suggest right away is the Drupal J Dojo group. 既に現時点東京グループ（必要なし？）、関西グループ（いいアイディアかも？）、Ubercart Jグループと、その気になれば作れるとして今回英語圏で大人気のDojoグループをまねてDrupalの教育専門のグループを作ってみてはと提案させて頂きます。
Why the Drupal J Dojo group? The lessons offered here can syncronize with our Japan group meeting presentations, and can function to further empower our educational efforts. I just have a hunch that if we get serious about this, modeling the efforts closely to the Drupal Dojo group (without the video presentations at this point, we probably don't have the time), where people can freely contribute Drupal lessons these sorts of efforts can greatly make Drupal exciting in Japan. なぜJ Dojoグループを？ということはいくつか理由は思い浮かびますが、皆さんもいろいろ思うのでは。既にミーティングなどで勉強会のようなことをしたりしてますし、それをJDojoグループと連動させればいいだけなので都合がよく、その上私自身は教育情報を一つのグループにまとめた方が効率よくDrupalの技術的な情報を提供できると考えています。
To further add to why we the only group in Japan should actively start creating groups. The Japan groups page in general spans topics offered at Drupal.org, groups.drupal.org and the Drupal Dojo topics. I can see that this will immediately crowd the page with all sorts of topics. それ以外にも現在JapanグループのページはDrupal.org、 groups.drupal.org、と教育などいろいろ情報を扱っており、あっという間にいろんな情報が混ざりあったページになり、効率の悪いページなりかねないと考えています。
Secondly it is probably more efficient with regards to learning about Drupal, at smaller groups. It is probably easier to create groups that way too. And after we have lots of small groups, I think we will have created the environment to have a Drupalcon in Japan. So I think it may be possible to view creating lots of groups as the fastest way for a Drupalcon in Japan. 「グループは一つ」と拘らず、実際は小さい集まりの方が学習もはかどりますし小さなグループがここでいっぱい出来やすい状況を作るのは実は逆にDrupalが日本で浸透するには得策なのではと思います。そういう小さいグループがひとつのグループとして集まるのもありですし、そういう状況になればDrupalconというような大イベントもいずれ可能なのではと思います。
Now, the question is, is it right time to do so?

p.s. now I'm not proposing a break away. Let me clear on this. I am saying that we as the Japan group do have an opportunity to nurture the beginnings of some other groups and simply pointing that out in the interest of Drupal in Japan. この提案は誤解を招くと思いますが、これは「じゃ新しいグループ作ろう」と今のJapanグループの状況を無視した単純な提案ではなく、Japanグループが協力して他のグループを作っていき、グループが増えていく環境を作ろうではないかという提案です。
I noticed that there aren't that many questions or considering the size of the community, in that sense not many comments posted at the Dojo group. I wonder how that is made possible as if it was in Japan, the groups pages would be swarmed with questions and comments. Drupal Dojoグループページには質問やコメントがあまりないのですが、これはどう可能になってるのでしょう？

How strange that just a couple of months ago, the Japanese group had very few posts in it and very rarely any new activity. Now there's sometimes dozens of posts a day, and now discussion of adding more groups…!
I question whether there's really the critical mass to warrant new groups, though. There's been a lot of activity recently, but outside of a few meetings, has anything really come of it? Remember that big huge thread about Ubercart? Lots of posts, but nothing really came from it…

The Drupal "Hello World" experience? I question..
Yeah I agree its a bit pushing it, but say if some guy at some remote Japanese town wants to start a Drupal group next to the Japan group which can happen at any time, I think most Japanese would just feel comfortable creating groups after more groups appear next to the Japan Group. Explaining the details of why might get complicated but imagine if there was only one group in America, "The Drupal American Group" based in Boston (sound convenient to join? for Americans nationwide?). Also say if a Kansai group existed, I think no Kansai person would feel uncomfortable just casually joining it.
But at the root of my suggestion is, in the fact that the "Hello World" experience sucks in bold letters, for at least a PHP developer (might be better for themers and artists but just plainly sucks for a php dude). And I thought a J Dojo group might improve upon that specifically in Japan, although it sucks all over the world.

グループを増やすべき理由は二つですね：
1. 情報共有の効率化
2. 成長する可能性のあるグループ数を増やす事
僕はこの案に条件付きで賛成。これはスコットの「時期尚早？」という質問に対しての"yes"という答えでもあるけど、人数が増えて、実際に利便性が下がり始めたと感じてから、それに合った解決法を探すというのでも遅くはないと思う。現時点で想定できないグループも出てくるだろうし。
タイトルに「我々が増やせる」ってあったけど、その我々は、現時点でこのグループに登録している「我々」ではくても、将来の「我々」に含まれる人でも良いのではないかと思う。今後、高いスキルやカリスマを持つ人たちが参加して、既存メンバーとのコラボレーションのもと、今僕らが持ちうるビジョンを超えた発展があるかもしれない。そういう可能性の芽を摘む「我々」ではありたくないし。
今の時点で想定しうるグループをたくさん作ったとして、それぞれが過疎の状態だったら、参加を考えている人に対してあまり好印象は与えない。現時点で、既にある程度の育成環境は存在するから、今はさらなる環境への投資は不要では、というのが僕の意見。
J Dojoというのがあったらすごく良いと思うけど、実際にDojoを開くのは誰？定期的に開催できるだけのリソースを確保できる？など、入れ物を作っても中身がなければ機能しないと思う。これは利便性の低下というよりは、実現性／持続可能性の問題。Dojoを始められる／続けられると思った人が作ることになるでしょう。
別スレッドでのSteinのポストにもあったように（翻訳版）、ユーザーも、グループのメンバーも、グループページも自然に増えると思う。もちろん、必要に応じてこういう議論を持つべきだとは思う。
