What a great group to start up. I'm the Internet Manager for Gold Country Media, a collection of newspapers on the outskirts of Sacramento, most notably the Auburn Journal, although I'm located in Roseville. I've been a lurker in the Drupal community for months, but now that I've committed pretty much all our future web-based projects to the Drupal platform, I wanted to start interacting with others who could help me hack through this jungle. We hopefully will have our first Drupal project launched in February. We're using the multisite installation to launch nine websites that will host all breaking and non-print news updates as well blogs for all the newspapers. What made me fall in love with Drupal for this project was its ability to set up one location where content can be posted and the ability for it to show up on any or all of the nine newspaper subdomains. I look forward to hearing what everyone else is working on.

Likewise from Granite Bay
Hey Jay,
Good to hear that there's some drupal life nearby (I'm in Granite Bay). I'm pretty new to Drupal and really enjoying it. (I've had lots of experience writing my own ad-hoc CMS systems in php and I hope I never have to do that again).
For my first Drupal project, I'm trying to put together a module to build in some automatable SEO intellegence -- supporting multiple and dynamic subdomains.
Regards,
Chad

You should check out the Sacramento Area group as well. There are others in the area working with Drupal, and they are looking to get together later this month.
Yea, definitely
We are Sacramento based, and work with a large number of high profile customers. I'd love to give you any advice you need on your projects (we advise two other newspapers already), and I expect you to be at our next SacDUG. ;-)
