ride / hotel sharing for sandcamp (from Los Angeles)

Hello everyone, I'm back from long overseas stay (iran, dubai, china). Great to see so much local activity.

I registered for sandcamp. Does anyone want to share ride / hotel room? I am in LA and prefer to ride with other (in vehicles free of pet odor) and pay for it.

Those hotels listed are pricey. I stayed at this great hostel a few blocks from the water two years ago but can't remember the name.

Which days are you going?

christefano's picture

Which days are you going? SANDcamp this year is on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

At a minimum, I can offer a ride down in my pet odor-free 4 seater on Thursday and Friday. I don't know if I'm going to SANDcamp on Saturday, but time will tell if my proposed session is accepted and put on the schedule.

Welcome back! I can't wait to catch up some time and hear about your travels.

ps. Please consider cross-posting this discussion to the Downtown Los Angeles Drupal group: http://groups.drupal.org/dtla

Another potential

Another potential SANDCamp-goer has posted at http://groups.drupal.org/node/274563#comment-870048 with questions about carpooling.

I know it's last minute but

I know it's last minute but it would be great to get into a carpool for at least a day. I'd consider staying over if I can find reasonable accommodations. Meeting anywhere from the West Side to DropLabs isn't a problem.

I can't drive, but I'd be

fejn's picture

I can't drive, but I'd be willing to share expenses. I want to get down there for training by Fri (1/25) noon. I don't plan on staying longer, as I don't know anything about accommodations in S.D. While I may be a little inflexible on that front, I can meet you at DropLabs at whatever time you specify. The main thing I need at this point is confirmation of a possible ride so I can fix my schedule for that time period.

Anyone who needs a ride back

christefano's picture

Anyone who needs a ride back to Los Angeles on Friday can just let me know. I won't be staying in San Diego.

Can you make it to Droplabs

christefano's picture

Can you make it to Droplabs in the morning on Friday? A small group of us are carpooling from there.

I'm not sure of the exact time. I'll post an update when I know more.

Yes

Yes - I can make it to Droplabs Fri. morning.

Let me know when, & I'll be there then.

I could be to DropLabs Fri

I could be to DropLabs Fri morn. When? Also, my temporary car can't make the trip to SD, so is there a seat for me?

Have a car for Friday morning

Stew-bee's picture

I Have room for 3 for Sandcamp. I can pickup at Droplabs. Thinking of leaving S.D. about 7:00 Friday -- go to the first hour of the party and miss some traffic.

I assume you mean 7:00 am

fejn's picture

I assume you mean 7:00 am Fri? I can meet you at Droplabs about then -- If I'm not there at that time, forget me & I'll try to hitch a ride some other way from there.

Clarification

Stew-bee's picture

Yes fejn, I think we should leave Droplabs about 7:00 A.M. or a little after to have time to register and make the 10:00 a.m. sessions. But that can be adjusted.

But in the post I meant I thinking of leaving San Diego and returning to L.A. about 7:00 p.m.

Time

fejn's picture

Thanks, Stew-bee. I'll see you down at Droplabs at ~7:00 am Fri. I'm looking to get to the E-Commerce class that runs from 1-4pm, so returning to LA at 7pm would probably work fine for me.

Great

Stew-bee's picture

Great fejn, I will see you about 7:00 A.M. at Droplabs on Friday.

I still have room for 2 more.

Thanks -- now I can relax &

Thanks -- now I can relax & concentrate on the interesting stuff at SANDCamp.

You might contact Christefano -- Seems like a lot of people were asking for a ride & he looks to be on the edge of overflow :)

I'm in. Count a seat for me,

I'm in. Count a seat for me, please!

Great Todd

See you Friday morning.

Still have one more seat. Anybody?

Great, thanks, see you then..

Great, thanks, see you then.. It's going to be a "lovely" drive in the rain.

Thanks for organizing this,

Thanks for organizing this, Stew-bee! I'm still unsure of my Friday morning schedule and am grateful to you for making this happen.

how do you delete a post?

Posts and comments generally

christefano's picture

Posts and comments generally don't get deleted unless they're spammy. If anything, they get unpublished, which is solely up to the skeleton crew that makes up the current groups.drupal.org webmaster team.

I'll figure it out

fejn's picture

I'll figure it out eventually. I accidentally double posted a message, & was trying to figure out how to get rid of (my) garbage post. I didn't see that I had delete permission on my own post.

Drupal comments are a bit

christefano's picture

Drupal comments are a bit funky in general, especially when they're set to threaded like they are here. Deleting a comment deletes all the replies, too, which can have negative effects on a discussion.
