Hi All, I would love some advice on this, I am pulling my hair out.
I created a new book (using the standard book module) that our journalist could maintain, and everything was working fine. They were able to browse to the book when logged in and click on the link that says- "add new child page" to keep adding pages and updates.
From yestarday however, this link to "add new child page" or access printer friendly version has disappeared from the book.
I have not upgraded or touched a single thing. If I change back the theme to garland, it does work however, even though it was working for me right up until yesterday. Has anyone ever come accross this before, or do you think I have switched of something by accident somewhere

amax, what theme does it not work with and does it work with any others besides garland? Also, do you happen to have the book/manager module installed?

Hi HMcKee, thanks for getting

Hi HMcKee, thanks for getting back to me.
I just have the default book module (which comes with 6.x core) turned on. No other book module add-ons are installed.
The only 2 themes I have are garland and earthen (http://drupal.org/project/earthen) which i cant find any issues for online. Really strage. I came accross this link - http://drupal.org/node/521806 but appears to only be specific to the nitrobe theme.

Check for recent changes in template files?

Hi amax

Have you altered your node template or theming functions recently? As I understand the missing links are all from the links section of a node (go figure!) so could be affected by changes to node.tpl.php or node-book.tpl.php; or by hook_link() or hook_link_alter() in your template.php.

One possible explanation for the sudden appearance is that you might've made the pertinent change a while back, but the theme registry might not have been rebuilt until later (visiting the modules page for example) at which point the previous change made itself felt.

I'm not experienced developing themes, but I find using source control invaluable for problems like this, as a quick look at the history of your theme might well shed some light on the problem.

All, thanks a million for the suggestions, looks like it was the registry not being rebuilt until the module page was visited.
Unfortunately, I had no source control but replacing the node.tpl.php from a fresh copy did the trick.
Thanks for all the help again
