Short Answer: No

Long Answer: No, but there's a lot of great resources to get you started. Can you install Drupal? That's a good place to start. After that, I've found Using Drupal is a great, easy to use guide that walks you through setting up a lot of the features you'd like in Drupal, but as has been discussed in this forum, newspapers vary so greatly that there's no ABC guide right now. With the increasing popularity of installation profiles, that might change. What in particular do you need help with?

The first recommendation I'd have is figure out your needs and ability level: Can you install a basic Drupal installation yourself? Can you read the tutorials to do a theme and use them effectively? Then come back and ask specific questions as you're building it out.

ABC Guide

Hi Morisy!

Thanks for the reply.

When I say step 1, I´m talking about after installing and having the basics skills to work with Drupal.

Since Drupal is an extensive and full costumized tool, I believe that it will be great having, like you say, an ABC guide to create and develope a newspapper. Why not? It will be an "extra value" for this group, and for all the people like me, that want to implement Drupal as the sollution to professional e-newspappers and magazines.

Best regards

Martino

I've been building a newspaper website as a volunteer, and keeping notes of how it's going. When it's done, I can try and put together this guide (though it won't be definitive!).

One of the problems, however, is so much varies site-to-site. For some uses, maybe a basic Drupal installation is all you need!

Do you want a traditional newspaper-style front page? Configuring that is its own tutorial and a half with Panels and Views. What about comments? A calendar? If and how these each will be implemented will vary greatly site to site, so while it's tempting to look for a step-by-step guide, it's better to think through the features of a site before blindly copying someone else.

That said, there are some great newspaper case studies you can follow and learn from.
