A good friend, former student employee, recent grad from Bradley University's Multimedia Program, and up-and-coming development rock star made the top 10 in Digg's API Visualization Contest with DiggMob, a FlashLite interface for cell phones that displays the popular Digg stories from a category, allows reading the teaser, and can direct the phone browser to the full article. Brian has also been working with the Drupal Service module to allowing him to use Drupal to drive flash interfaces.
Drupal page -> http://portfolio.brianmcmurray.com/about
Flash driven version -> http://portfolio.brianmcmurray.com/#/about
This approach allows you to easily move users or search engines between the Flash and Drupal version of the site by adding a /#/ to the URL.
We've been talking about a potential uses for his DiggMob work beyond Digg. I thought that newspapers might be interested in branded, FlashLite news readers that worked with the Drupal Services module. Is there any interest from this group in something like that?
Also, if you digg... please digg Brian's entry and pass it along to any other digg users you know. this "contest" is more about Digg mojo than usable applications at this point.
