The Drupal driven site TechPresident is a finalist is the J-Lab run Knight-Batten Award to spotlight the creative use of new information ideas and technologies to involve citizens in public issues. The grand prize winner will receive $10,000 and be announced September 17 at the National Press Club in Washington DC. Up to $5,000 in Special Distinction Awards will also be awarded.
The Drupal driven NewAssignment.net and the Reynolds School of Journalism’s OurTahoe.org and Nevada Matters: The 2008 Caucuses were given Honorable Mentions. NowPublic was listed as a notable entry in the Citizen Media category.
