I plan using SimpleMenus to replace the default primary menu in the navbar. I installed SimpleMenus (working fine), but the old menu bar remains. What file do I edit to remove the old main menu? Thanks in advance.

Menu bar is a block

The menus are blocks; go to the Blocks page (in the Admin menu bar, look under "Site building"). Change the "region" for the "Main menu" block to "none." That should do it!

Hm. The Main Menu block is disabled, but the menu items still appear in the Navigation region, resulting in the Nice Menu block appearing below the Main Menu. I want to drop the Main Menu block out of the navigation region, replacing it with the Nice Menu.

Try the theme configuration

You may also have to go into the global settings for Themes and uncheck the Primary links (and possibly the Secondary links). See if that helps!

I fixed it by commenting-out

I fixed it by commenting-out the primary-links div and styling the nice menus block to match the default menu.
