Greetings CT Drupalers,
There doesn't seem to be a tremendous amount of activity within this group just yet. How successful have we been at getting a Drupal User Group started here in Connecticut? I am located in Middlebury and run my own web development business. I have been using Drupal for a little over a year now on various projects. I actually just got back from an exciting DrupalCon in Boston and am interested in helping build momentum for Drupal in Connecticut.
Please contact me if there is interest!
Regards,
Eric

New to Group
Hi Eric, I'm not a technie. I stumbled across this site in the process of trying to find an expert who could help me migrate my Drupal blog from its present site to a new one. It was through this site that I discovered Drupal Value Hosting and they are in the process of migrating my site, but as it's name implies, it is value hosting, so I'm not sure how much support I'll get. I joined in the hopes of finding a local technical expert in Drupal who could provide me with "as needed" support for my Drupal site. I'm probably not the kind of member you are looking for in this group, as I imagine this group is all about techies talking to techies. If you know of anyone who could provide the kind of support I need, I'd be interested in making contact with them. Thanks.
Hi Gail, Thanks for your
Hi Gail,
Thanks for your response. Drupal techies definitely seem in short supply which is what I'm eager to help resolve! I would happily offer my assistance but am currently maxxed out on projects. Please stay on board though. It is my hope that the more developers get involved the more Drupal can grow and the more resources will be available for individuals like yourself.
At this stage, I'm interested in building a local network for Drupalers with strong ability or just strong interest in PHP programming, Drupal theming, Drupal module and/or core development. Others are welcome as well but without enough developers involved I don't think the group will be very successful.
I used to do custom PHP programming until I "saw the light" and realized the benefit of the Drupal project and community. This is an opportunity for bright people to exchange ideas and learn from one another while helping to improve the Drupal software for everyone. Business opportunities naturally will result from this for those who have interest in that as well.
