Welcome to the Semantic Web group in Drupal. This group was started at DrupalCon Barcelona 2007 and includes discussions on how to integrate the Semantic Web technologies into Drupal and list the various effort of the community towards enabling RDF in Drupal. Drupal 7 comes with native RDFa support in core. If you want extra RDF capabilities such as other serialization formats and SPARQL support, checkout the RDF Extensions, SPARQL and SPARQL Views contributed projects. If you need support or have found a bug in one of the fore mentioned projects, please file a ticket in their issue tracker (block on the right on each project page).
RDF code sprint at DrupalCon SF wiki
DrupalCon will be a great opportunity for folks interested in Semantic Web to gather and discuss the next steps of RDF in Drupal. In addition to the session The story of RDF in Drupal 7 and what it means for the Web at large, there will be some informal events at the conference in the form of code sprint and Birds of a Feather.
Read moreD7 semantic modules ecosystem
There are a number of modules available for using RDF in D6 now that there is some RDF support in core what other modules do people see as being needed to be ported to D7 and how should they work together?
As not the whole of the RDF module was put into core I would assume there would be some other dependencies.
Read moreMissing Module
I have created a basic function for making calls to a sparql endpoint. I have looked arround and while there are a number of modules which provide some specific functionality to access a sparql endpoint, I was hoping for something which would provide an API, prehaps to add endpoints and to query them.
I am happy to create a module to do this, but don't want to duplicate work. Is there a module I am missing.

I've been trying very hard to get the OpenCalais system working for me. In terms of auto tagging it's been the best system I've used so far. I really don't have any idea what RDF is. My guess is it's a way to store information about entities using an intuitive three part structure, subject, predicate, and object.

Hi community. I am a research student and currently looking at RAP. I have this code as below but with some problems
:: CODE ::
<?php
// Determine the query execution runtime
function getmicrotime()
{
list($usec, $sec) = explode(" ",microtime());
return ((float)$usec + (float)$sec);
}
$start = getmicrotime();
// Include RAP
define("RDFAPI_INCLUDE_DIR", "C:/xampp/htdocs/monokb/rdfapi-php/api/");
include (RDFAPI_INCLUDE_DIR . "RdfAPI.php");
include (RDFAPI_INCLUDE_DIR . "sparql/SparqlEngine.php");
//include (RDFAPI_INCLUDE_DIR . 'sparql/SparqlParser.php');
RDF theming.
I am working on a very exciting drupal/ symantic web project. Part of what I am doing will involve theming data which has come from an RDF triple store.
I was thinking about the possibility of using RDF data to help choose the theme function to use.
For example I may be trying to theme something which is a imdb:director, and have no idea how to theme that. But if I have something which I know can theme a foaf:person and my rdf says that an imdb:director is a foaf:person I can use that function to theme the item.

Many modules offer, based upon different methods, functionalities that serve to detect relation of similarity between nodes (sometimes named "more like this", relevant, similar...). By methods I mean modules relying on any form of automatic (or semi-automatic) process, which detects and lists similar nodes. Modules that solely offers a manual-based listing process are therefore out of scope.
Below is a proposition of classification of methods I would like to discuss with the community:
- taxonomy/CCK based, which compute a match score.
RDFa in Drupal 7: last call for feedback before alpha release
For those of you who have been following Drupal 7 core development, you might be aware that many RDF patches have already been committed. So, before it's old news: Drupal 7 will ship with RDFa enabled by default on nodes, comments, terms and users!
The first alpha release of Drupal 7 will be created next Friday Jan 15th. We've already incorporated most of the feedback we received from the semweb community so far, but I wanted to give the community a last chance to review the RDFa markup and the default RDF mappings we use before it's too late. I should emphasize that all the markup and default RDF mappings that we ship in core will be pretty much set in stone after the stable release of Drupal 7, hence this call for feedback. Site administrators who care about semantics will be able to alter these mappings by installing extra modules, but many people (read several 10K sites) will just install Drupal 7 and not care about the semantics it generates. Therefore we want to make sure the RDFa generated by Drupal out of the box is somewhat correct and does not make folks from the semantic/pedantic web community angry :) - we've tried to keep the semantics as generic as possible for that reason.
RDF mappings
I've created a diagram representing the default semantics of the core data structure which has been committed and I would appreciate feedback on the RDF terms we've used.

Increasingly, major national and international projects centered on ontology technology are being advanced by governments and by scientific and industrial organizations. This brings a growing need for ontology expertise and thus for new methods and institutions for the training of ontologists.

There are quite a few modules which help in making it easier to tag the content on a site.
Some of these are completely internal, some rely on free (or "freemium") third party services, some rely on fee-based third party services. Some provide UI enhancements and some are transparent to the end user.

Ok it's time to come out of shell: we are on the verge of securing “Beijing IT Developer Conference Week”.
It will provide free-of-cost to following:
1. A 2,000-3,000 square meter, conference venue, with main pavilion and partitioned classrooms
2. Linguistic support, with instantaneous translations and headsets
3. Sound/video equipment, personnel and recording
4. Security/attendants
5. Internet connection
Caveats:
1. Timing has to be either April, or July of 2010
Bristol Knowledge Unconference
Bristol Knowledge Unconference (BKU) 2009, will this year be held as an event at the Arnolfini in Bristol, UK on the 12th and 13th December 2009.
BKU is an unconference (an informal conference) all about Knowledge in it's different forms and perspectives.
BKU 2009 will have the subtitle "The Art of Knowledge", as working with knowledge is both an art and a science.

I happen to be going through Paris this weekend and I'd like to organize a last minute short code sprint in Paris on Monday 17th to review the RDF patches and polish them up. Apologies for the short notice, but if anyone wants to participate online, we'll be on IRC on #drupal-rdf
. We'll see what we can do in one afternoon, but that's the only window I managed to squeeze in from my vacation before the code freeze on Sept 1st.
using sparql
Hi,
I am new to rdf and sparql and finding it hard to work on it in drupal as I could not find any tutorial for help.
I have downloaded the RDF, evoc,sparql, rdf cck modules. I have seen some powerpoints with page slide create sparql qurery with a box to write query and also provide end point. But I am not able to find it.
Am I missing any module here? Would really appreciate help on how to use sparql to query external databases.
Thanks

The Apache Solr RDF module is now in a state, where it can already, theoretically, be used. However, there is much room for improvement, so I'd like to discuss some possible ways to do this.
Read moreRDF integrated into web forms
Greetings,
I've been reading a lot about integrating RDFa into XHTML web pages. What I don't see much about is how to handle complex web forms. The idea would be to create text field and select list values that will print out submitted form data within meaningful RDFa containers. Can we do this in Drupal yet with any of the rdf modules? Can anybody share examples of the source code of a form that is RDFa enabled? My guess is that we can create very powerful forms doing so.
Cheers
Kevin
Localization & RDF
I'm just curious--how does RDF deal with descriptions about the same subject but in different languages, i.e. "hat" & "chapeau"? Will the content be in the language of choice but the RDF triple description in English? Is someone talking about this somewhere?
