Drupal Social Initiative
This group is specifically for organizing, planning and working on Drupal projects being fostered by developers/architects interested in harmonizing authentication with external services in Drupal. This group is also the focal point for organizing BoFs, sprints, and camps.
See the code at Social API and the issues for Social API.
We have a Drupal Social Initiative Google Group.
The Social API project was initially funded by Google Summer of Code. Learn more about Drupal's GSoC initiative by joining the group

Drupal Social Initiative Call 20130619
This call will be held on Skype or Hangout. This will continue ongoing discussion on the Drupal Social Initiative and Social API. If you want to attend then please add yourself and make your time zone known so we can fix the best time for it.
We need to find out who wants to join and what times will work for them. If we are just Europe then we'll go 09:00 UTC and if people from the Americas want to join then we'll go later in the day. If we have people from PDT then we'll start at 09:00 PDT (=16:00 UTC). We're using 24 hour clock here.

Add your personal stories (as an end-user, site administrator or developer) as to what you want to see happen in the Drupal Social Initiative. Also, how do we want to interact/integrate with external social networks? Then we can prioritise and create issues specific to Social API and perhaps add User Interface Tests.

This wiki page is to detail the process and aims of the Drupal Social Initiative.
- We need to play nice with current social network integration modules and work with maintainers to decide how we can best abstract functionality for common tasks.
- Refactor code iteratively.
- One of the primary aims is to stop needless proliferation of overlapping functionality in the contrib modules that are relevant to the Social Initiative.
The road to DrupalCon Prague 2013
Welcome to the Drupal Social Initiative on g.d.o!
For this initial thread let's discuss a little bit more how to organise ourselves. I'd like us to try and be really document/wiki focused – keeping wiki pages live at all times (people can see history in revisions if they want). So, let's continually take the juice that happens in the discussions and whack it into even juicier wiki pages so it's easy for newbies to catch up and get the state of the art. There's a lot we can do with the g.d.o group in terms of document/wiki/page management but I'm no expert at it – so hopefully a few of you are and can help organise the top level wiki pages for beneficial visibility and usability.
