Drupal Social Initiative
This group is specifically for organizing, planning and working on Drupal projects being fostered by developers/architects interested in harmonizing authentication with external services in Drupal. This group is also the focal point for organizing BoFs, sprints, and camps.
See the code at Social API and the issues for Social API.
We have a Drupal Social Initiative Google Group.
The Social API project was initially funded by Google Summer of Code. Learn more about Drupal's GSoC initiative by joining the group

Hi, just stumbled over this group.
We've been working hard on something very similar in last months. Have a look at the fluxservices module (http://drupal.org/project/fluxservice) and the fluxkraft distribution (http://www.fluxkraft.com).
Especially the fluxservice module could function as a base for most of your usecases. It stores web service endpoints and service account authentications in a centralized way and provides an API for further integrations, that hopefully follow.
Currently we have basic integration modules for twitter, facebook, linkedin, dropbox, flickr and xing.
