Drupalcon 2010

So it's 2 months until DrupalCon SF! There's been a little talk of what's fun to do in San Francisco at the conference website here: http://sf2010.drupal.org/forum/22/activities-spouse-partner-gfbf-parents...
Who's coming? Where are you staying? When will you be there? What do you want to do?
I think I'll be there April 17 to 24. Must do things for me are lunch in Chinatown, Alcatraz, and walking over the Golden Gate Bridge. We're hoping to go to a baseball game as well.

The Drupal Association just approved the proposal from the Danish team to organize Drupalcon 2010 in Copenhagen. The conference will take place in August, the exact date will be finalized in the coming week.

Hello Drupal Community and DrupalCon Teams!

It has taken longer than originally expected, but finally after long and careful deliberation, we, the selection taskforce committee, recommend Copenhagen for the DrupalCon 2010. The commitment and relentless enthusiasm of the Danish team during the evaluation process gave us also full confidence that they are ready to organize a DrupalCon that rocks in the 9 months that is left.

Sorry for arriving late. I've made a Google Doc of the notes from the BOF.

Quick summary:

• Possible cities for 2010 is Berlin, Cologne, Prague, Copenhagen, Maastricht and London (in no particular order). The community (probably meaning people engaged in this group) should have a pick ready by October 15th, but before that Drupal Association will look for venues in each of the listed cities.
• Get ready to suggest cities for 2011 as well, since it should be decided no later than April 2010 (and preferrably sooner).
• Anyone wanting to be engaged in arranging Drupalcons should be more focused on promoting him/herself for a particular task than promoting the city he/she lives in.
