How to redirect link to /node/% to /user/% ?

My setup is Drupal 5.10 and the latest versions of:

usernode, node profile, node family, imagefield, imagecache, Views, CCK

I am using the above modules to create userprofiles, whose pictures are displayed in a gallery format using imagefield+imagecache+views. My user profiles are taken over using michelle's template.php snippet, featured in her userprofiles #1 tutorial. Every /user/% looks just like its corresponding /node/%.

In views I add the field "field_image_field" and "Node: Author Name". This creates a photo gallery, with the user's name under each image.

Permissions for Node Profile

For the site we're creating we would like users to only be able to edit their Node Profile node, but no need to create one (our import tool creates a profile for them). However, it looks like this is not possible since it seems you need permission to "Create" the profile in order to edit it. Has any found a way to get around this?

What is the difference between Node Profile and Usernode?

What is the difference between Node Profile and Usernode modules?

1) Node Profile. According to its documentation: "This module builds user profiles as nodes, which opens the opportunity to use the Content Construction Kit (CCK)"

2) Usernode. Again the documentation says: "This module tries to make users nodes." And later on: "Use views to build user listings or even searches" and "Makes building of nodeprofiles easier"

Question about using Node Profile and AdSense at the same time

So far, I have read the AdSense module and Node Profile module's “readme” files, the AdSense and Node Profile module's descriptions, the AdSense author's module info on his web site, and done a search on both d.o and g.d.o. However, I didn't find my answer.

I was wondering about the AdSense when using the Node Profile module because when I go to my website's modules page, e.g. www.abc.com/admin/build/modules, under the AdSense module it states: "Depends on: Profile". This means the core profile module must be enabled for AdSense to work.

Basically, I'm confused on what gets stored if I use both modules (core profile out of a necessity for AdSense AND Node Profile as my choice for enhanced profiles).

Editing two nodes for each user??

Hi all

I'm new to this group, but very interested in the node profile and user nodes features. I'm wondering something tho...

Is it me or if you want to use a cck node for profiles and also user node as well, each user would have to edit two nodes, as his profile and not only one??

Because for example I want to use taxonomy for each user... would that mean that the user has to enter some keywords in his usernode, even though he has actually another profile node (the cck custom one??)
