permission

I am in the middle of figuring how to setup a per user based group content access permission.

The scenario is like this.
I have a group of users, when publishing a post into the group, the author will be able to select which member from the group will be able to access the content.

Anyone has experience on this kind of implementation, mind to share?

If I build a site with a feature module that includes permissions and then add a new role to my site, I'll need to recreate that feature to include the updated permissions for my new role? At that point, I've basically forked the original feature module for my own site.

Is it normal to have a feature module, such as a wysiwyg or blog, that is unique for each site? Are most feature modules that are available on d.o. (for example, the Debut modules) just a starting point to create a site-specific version for every site?

I'm trying to explain my problem.

I configured a workflow with several states, users and activate the revisioning module.
I don't used triggers, only the rules module

Ok
In my case, a simple user can save some contents and an email is sended to another user to validate them.
But, for some minor updates content, I want this user can publish directly theses update on the site (bypassing the workflow)

For that, I added a checkbox (publish directly) in my content type (a CCK field -> field_pub_directe) and in a rule to check and publish the content.

I'm a Rules noob with what could be a very common and easy problem to solve, yet I'm stumped. I have a content type called "resource" that I'd like to partially gate so that anonymous users can see the title and teaser, but not the full body or file attachments without logging in. Is it possible to use Rules to make it so that a user must log in to view the full node for a specific content type?

I'm working with a client who will be switching to Drupal with Ubercart as their primary e-commerce system. Part of our content delivery has to do with subscriptions. We have several hundred products, and we want to be able to sell a subscription for each individual product.

Is it possible to use workflow with a permission based on term? I.e. a publishing workflow, every article is assigned to one (or more) term in a vocabulary. Each editor can access into only certain terms.

I think there are some more access / permission UI modules but those two look for me nearly absolutely identical except content_access uses ACL for user permissions.

BTW: I see sometimes a block "Recommendation: Related projects" when accessing projects.. who is maintaining those information? Is it automatically tag based? Because in both cases each other isn't showing up.

For the site we're creating we would like users to only be able to edit their Node Profile node, but no need to create one (our import tool creates a profile for them). However, it looks like this is not possible since it seems you need permission to "Create" the profile in order to edit it. Has any found a way to get around this?
