How to redirect link to /node/% to /user/% ?

My setup is Drupal 5.10 and the latest versions of:

usernode, node profile, node family, imagefield, imagecache, Views, CCK

I am using the above modules to create userprofiles, whose pictures are displayed in a gallery format using imagefield+imagecache+views. My user profiles are taken over using michelle's template.php snippet, featured in her userprofiles #1 tutorial. Every /user/% looks just like its corresponding /node/%.

In views I add the field "field_image_field" and "Node: Author Name". This creates a photo gallery, with the user's name under each image.

Georgia Podcast Network redesign is live!

We have finally gone live with our redesign of the Georgia Podcast Network! For a rundown of what's new from an end user standpoint, check out our announcement blog post.

GAPN is based on Drupal 5.7, and makes heavy use of the following modules: CCK, Views, Workflow-ng, FeedAPI, ImageCache, Usernode, Bio, Fivestar, and Voting API. That's not a full list, but the site leans on those the most.

Additionally, we built a custom theme and wrote several custom modules to get things working just the way we wanted them to. In writing these modules, we built custom Drupal integration for getID3, SWFUpload, and the JW Media Player.

Hope you like the site! I'll be happy to answer any "how did you do that?" questions if you have them.

What is the difference between Node Profile and Usernode?

What is the difference between Node Profile and Usernode modules?

1) Node Profile. According to its documentation: "This module builds user profiles as nodes, which opens the opportunity to use the Content Construction Kit (CCK)"

2) Usernode. Again the documentation says: "This module tries to make users nodes." And later on: "Use views to build user listings or even searches" and "Makes building of nodeprofiles easier"

Link from Views to User

Hi Everyone,

I'm using Nodeprofile and Usernode, and all beautiful.

When I create tables in Views with the fields, and have tried :

link to node
node: view link
etc

it all links to the node url .... not the user/ url.

I've tried bio and advanced profile, all with the same results.

Please, how do I link from a table in Views (CCK content) to the user profile and not the node.

Would most appreciate any reply.

Lilian

Views of Users and Images

I am building a site where I have custom user profiles built using nodeprofile, usernode, nodefamily, et al. I am using Image Attach for the user images.

So, here's the problem: I want to create a view of nodes along with the attached image for the node author.

I can create a view that consists of the Node: Author and Image Attach: Display Image. I can create the view of nodes. What I can't do is get them to play nicely together. It seemed to me that Views Fusion would work for fusing these two views together, but I get errors:

Best formula for multiple instances of same sub-content type on profile?

I spent an afternoon reinstalling/reconfiguring profiles based on both tutorials on Drupal.org and Michelle's site, and the closest I got to exactly what I need was following these steps exactly: http://drupal.org/node/130489

Usernode w/ link to account settings & "contact" tab

First off, wow - there's a lot of information, and a lot of tricky configuration here, but to some potentially great results. And congratulations on the documentation! I would never have gotten myself this far! :-) I'll describe ultimately what I want to do, what I've done, and where I'm stuck.

How to create an Alumni directory

I have been involved with creating several Drupal-based alumni websites. One of the most requested feature, by clients, is an alumni directory; a tabular listing of all registered alumni with links to the alumni's profile(s).

Below is a basic how to implemented an alumni directory using contributed modules. This howto is based on Drupal 5.x, however, you can use the same approach with Drupal 4.7.x.
I hope this is helpful for others who are building Drupal-based alumni websites.

Avoid having two profiles: The default one and the "new" one created by nodeprofile

Hello again :)

I´ve managed to create profiles nodes and attached them to several users on my demo installation. It was easier that I realize at the beggining (thank to your help guys!!). But this way, people have two profiles, and that´s pretty confusing, because they will have to edit both when they want to change, ie. their email or telephone number.
I know that thare´s a way to change the "original" profile link for the new profile_node, but what if I don´t want all users to be allowed to create their "new" node_profile?
