User's remain logged in even after closing the browser and returning later
Some Users are complaining that they close their browser after accessing my site and then go back to the site the next day and they are already logged in. I looked into this and it appears what is really happening is that Drupal is setting a cookie and when the user returns, the site uses the cookie to automatically log the User into the site.

Read moreJust had to share!!!
To those of you who have been listening to my pain over the past 6+ months:
We've finally converted our live site to Drupal 6.22 with all the latest patches (from an older version 5). While for the most part it appears 99.9% the same to the viewer, boy, are the internals different. Actually better! Just wanted to share and bask for that rare 1/2 second we IT'ers get. Thanks for reading.

I am trying to get email notifications working on my site. I have been looking at various options and tried a few and so far been unable to anything to work. What I am looking for is similar to what this site is doing where new posts automatically notify users and the user can choose to op-in, op-out, get each post as a separate e-mail or a daily digest if posts.
I would appreciate any information on the subject.

Read moreConnecticut Weekend Meetup Discussion
I thought it would be best if we started a new discussion around the idea of starting a weekend meetup 1 day a month.
I know there is a good amount of interest in holding a weekend meetup, so we need to figure out a few things.
-
Location (Town/City)
- Should this be around central ct, so that most people are traveling the same distance?
-
Venue / Facility
- What type of venue is best?
- Is WiFi available?
- How available is parking?
- Public vs. Private access?
-
Date / Time
- Does either Saturday or Sunday work, or do people prefer one over the other?

Read moreDrupal as a Service (Buzzr vs Drupal Gardens)
Hopefully this is an appropriate discussion item for this forum.... I've been increasingly interested in finding out more about two of the Drupal as a Service providers, Lullabot's Buzzr and Acquia's Drupal Gardens. Anyone with hands-on experience with either or preferably both, that can provide some insights and comparisons? I know that DG runs on D7, but can't find a definitive version for Buzzr (D6 or D7). Anyone know? Also what is the downside to either or both of these services, other than they cost $$$. Thanks in advance for any feedback....
Read moreMore "Views" help??? (Ver 5.18)
OK - Getting closer with custom formatting of views output. With some of your help I've been able to create a custom template to control the output and modify template.php to trigger it.
Now I'm trying to access all of the fields that I defined in the Fields area of the view. I've added each desired field using the Drupal views definition screen and some of those fields are accessible in the custom tpl file I've created.

Read moreIs there any way to determine which template is governing the current page output?
So I've inherited a site with a bazillion templates and pages. For some of them I've been able to use grep to find the template that is controlling the current output. So far, so good.
Now I have a particular view that is controlling output to a page and I need to reformat that page. But I CANNOT determine which template, if any, is controlling it. I've spent several days (actually) searching, looking, dumping, debugging, using various drupal tools including drupalforfirebug and firebug itself, all without any results.
