I am looking for some input/advice on how to incorporate Donations to a church website. I have about a year of Drupal experience and have managed to put together our church website. What I need to do now is to add the ability for people to make online donations. I have had several people ask for that. In the very near future I also need to add an online store and will need to be able to take payments from there as well.
So my question is have you done this type of thing with Drupal and can you point in my direction that will do I need to do and yet is not too daunting.

I had to add an online donation page to our website recently, and didn't have a lot of time to do it. Instead of trying to learn Ubercart, I thought I would just write the bare minimum that we needed to get going. I had some experience with authorize.net from a project a I did about 6 years ago, and thought what we wanted would be very simple. Alas, Authorize.net had changed things around a bit and my solution didn't turn out quite as nice as I had hoped (It takes 2 pages before you get to Authorize.net).

So, I made it to the last few minutes of the Churches and Ubercart BoF at Drupalcon DC and may not have the full picture on what was discussed. As such, I'm going to use this thread to just spec. out what I see as the desired solution for enabling church websites (and other non-profit organizations) to take donations online. It seemed like the folks in the BoF were willing to get behind a proposal, fund it, and start implementing it on their various sites.

Anyone who is offering a link for PayPal donations can probably answer this question.
What type of PayPal account should we set up for our church?
Personal, Business, or is there one specific to non-profits?
Thanks!

I'm interested in being able to set up a pledging system, that can enable donation bounties as a content type, and allows people to first pledge, then be billed if pledges reach a capped amount, or have no one billed of pledges do not reach an amount.
Is it already possible to do this with existing modules (like e-commerce and cck)? If not, I am committed to producing this capability, and would feedback from this group on suggestions about how to approach from a module creation standpoint

This is my first-ever drupal site. I started by trying to duplicate an ASB VBScript site that a long-lost developer did for me. When the old site's database corrupted a few weeks ago, it naturally accelerated my development of the drupal site. I pulled everything together and posted the beta as quickly as I could.
