DUG meeting

The January meeting of the San Diego DUG is happening on Wednesday January 9th at 7:00pm at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.

As usual, we'll start off with introductions and news items.

After that we'll be doing some Sandcamp and community planning updates, followed by an overview of a scalable and resilient Drupal server stack in the Amazon cloud.

Next, we'll get into some lighting talks...

The November meeting of the San Diego DUG is happening on Wednesday November 14th at 7:00pm at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.

As usual, we'll start off with introductions and news items.

After that we'll be doing some Sandcamp and community planning updates, followed by a badcamp recap. If you went to badcamp, be prepared to talk about your favorite session, sprint, or just something else you liked about the camp.

The August meeting of the San Diego DUG is happening on Wednesday Aug 8th at 7:00pm at the Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.

As usual, we'll start off with introductions and news items.
Then we will review noteworthy items from DrupalCampLA, 15 minutes max. And Diana Farias will inform us of upcoming planning items for SANDcamp 2013.

For the main course:
On August 1 a complete rework of phoenixcollege.edu was launched on Drupal. Zakiya Khabir, Rich Yumul and Burt Lo from Sage Tree will show interesting and juicy bits from under the hood.

This month we'll be doing a group discussion on best practices for running a Drupal Shop. We'll start talking about how to target the right clients for your business, what documents and information to share, how to keep your projects on track and avoid scope creep, and whatever else comes up in our discussion.

As usual, we'll start off with introductions and news items.

This month we'll have two short presentations. First off we'll have Rich Yumul taking about the isotope javascript library and how he used it to make a snazzy video showcase for Qualcomm. Next Andrew Root will talk about using Facebook's APIs to aggregate social newsfeed items.

1. Alex Smith and Shane Yakely will cover Backbone and Drupal.
2. Matt Young will present his findings on HipHop and Drupal as per requests from last month's meetup.
