Synopsis for Broward Drupal Meetup held on September 8th 2010
We are continuing to keep our meetup open to remote users. To participate, all you have to do is send me a skype message stating that you want to join the meeting before the meetup begins (we start around 7pm). My id is hectoriribarne. We share our desktop via Yugma (https://www.yugma.com/products/yugmase-skype-edition.php), since Skype can only share a desktop between two users. We may use team viewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) next time, because I am not sure Yugma lets you pass control of the desktop to another user with the free version.

We'll be getting together for the 2nd Tampa Bay Meetup in Feather Sound on October 21st. (We plan to meetup on the first Thursday of each month, but due to availability at the chosen location October will be the 3rd Thursday.)
Since our group so far has a pretty mixed level of experience with Drupal, Mike Wright has volunteered to go over setting up a basic Drupal site and how to use cron with regards to Drupal. He mentioned that he would be utilizing one of the Acquia one-click stack installers.
There is wifi available, and Mike will be bringing a projector for the meeting.

Read moreFirst meeting went very well
Our first meeting went very well. We had nine attendees.
Sean discussed the intricacies of getting legacy applications to work with Drupal, and then we had a discussion about what we would like to see going forward.
Among these were:
- A session on Theming
- A session on Git
- A session on Cloud and High Volume hosting
- A session where several members present projects they are working on
- A session about which modules NOT to use and why
There were several other ideas posted as well. Thanks to all who attended.

April Central Florida Drupal Meetup
Join us on Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 1-3PM for a 2-hour meetup at MindComet's offices in Altamonte Springs.
There is no topic yet for the meetup, so if you would like to present something, please post it in the comments below.
Several people (including myself) won't be able to attend (due to DrupalCon SF), so it might be a great opportunity for some Q&A.

The Florida group page tells us that there is a regular monthly meetup for the Palm Beaches on the third Tuesday. I was excited to read this, because that meant that I would have really cool plans for tomorrow night! But alas, I find no other evidence in this group (or on Meetup.com, for that matter) that there is, or ever has been, a regular meetup here. Would anyone be interested in starting one?
P.S. I apologize if there's anything wrong with how I've submitted this discussion--for instance, if it goes to the wrong place--this is my first posting.
