NEW TWITTER:
First, we just created a new twitter account for the group under @orlandodrupal. Please follow us to keep up with the times.
NEW EMAIL:
We also have a multi-admin monitored email address for the group at orlandodrupal@gmail.com. This address is accessible by myself, Alex McCabe and Ryan Price. Please use it as a backup form of contact, after G.D.O. and our Meetup.com page.

Orlando does not currently have a regular monthly meetup, but we could if a few people step up. With December, February, and DrupalCamp in April, we are at least on a bi-monthly schedule.
Nobody else has offered to pick a time and place for the Drupal meetup - one of our members, Tyme, got in touch with a Valencia teacher named Rob McCaffrey, who has reserved a room on the East Campus, Building 1, room 345 (on Econ Trail between Colonial Dr and the 408). At our last meetup we discussed possibly having meetups on the 3rd Monday, but Rob was not available this week.

I am determined to break our meetup hiatus, so I have decided to rent the Library meeting room at Herndon Plaza (near Fashion Square Mall) for a meetup. I did have a few offers for meeting locations, but something in me wishes for a central location with ample parking was high on my list for this first meeting back after such a long break.

Come learn how to use the Migrate API and a small custom module to import data from just about any system into a Drupal 6 or 7 site. Migrate has been around for a while, but the current branch relies heavily on writing code and making it very easy to run all your migrations from Drush. It also integrates with a ticket tracking system so you can have your client review the migrations.
My project is to connect to a backend system that uses Postgres and try to keep Drupal in sync with it - that will be my example this week.
