We had a great time at the S.D. Drupal User Group meetup this month. there were almost 20 people in attendance this time, including Myself, Michael Murdoch, and Harry Slaughter, the latter of whom you would expect to be there because he was the impetus and organizer! I even saw some of the Achieve Internet gang there, including Alex Villeux and Karl Scheirer, my former supervisors. Awesome! A few of the gang from Achieve's Costa Rican development office were up for the week, and I got to hang out with them for a little bit too. <href="http://drupal.org/user/208711">Nestor Mata is a Central American codehead who I had the pleasure of working with on the http://namm.org project (he built the Rotor module, among others) and it was great to finally meet him face to face. Cheers, Nestor!

So, nachdem sich am 30.01.2008 die DUG Heidelberg und Mannheim zum ersten Mal getroffen hat, kommt hier mal ein kurzer Bericht von mir dazu.

Nahezu pünktlich sind sanduhrs und ich im Zapata aufgeschlagen. Nachdem wir weder ein Erkennungszeichen noch so etwas ausgemacht haben, sind wir ein wenig durch den Raum gegangen, haben aber augenscheinlich niemanden gefunden, der zu unserem Spontan Treffen kam. sanduhrs und ich wären nicht überrascht gewesen, wenn sonst niemand käm aber weit gefehlt.

Nachdem es hier ja sehr lange ruhig war, will ich mal ein wenig die Planungen, die im Hintergrund laufen veröffentlichen.
sanduhrs und ich wollen das erste Treffen der Heidelberg und Mannheim Gruppe angehen.

KarenS who just organized a Drupal User Group, in Central IL, gave a presentation to it's founding members explaining a much improved CCK for the D6 release. CDMUG took notes and posted them to share with the Drupal community - check out our milestone 100th node post. ;-)

More than a year ago I picked up drupal.net.nz off an expired domains auction site -- probably Expired Domains. I have no personal nor business use for it or interest in it, but I'm not about to give it up to some {insert your favourite swearword here} domain squatter either. Some talk has occurred in the Christchurch DUG about how it could be used for the drupal community. I think this discussion should be opened up to the NZ DUG. Please contribute your ideas here.

As I mentioned in the earlier post, David has agreed to stay open late for us -- for future meetings, his preference will be either Wednesday or Monday nights, so we'll need to sort out the best date for the next meetup.
