Florida DrupalCamp 2011 Wrapup

Wow. What a weekend. Florida DrupalCamp 2011 is in the books and by all accounts it was a huge success. With almost 250 attendees and 6 tracks of sessions, this was the largest Drupal event ever held in the state of Florida. Attendees traveled from all corners of Florida, as well as a growing number from out-of-state (Illinois, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, to name a few) to participate.

If you took any pictures at the event, please tag them with #FLDC when you post them on your social media site of choice. If you have any feedback from the event, feel free to post it publicly in the comments below or privately via the Florida DrupalCamp web site contact form. If you'd like to help out, sponsor, or present at next year's camp, please let us know as well.

Upstate DrupalCamp?

Hi, all. I'm in the beginning stages of planning a WNY DrupalCamp in Buffalo for early September 2011. At this point, we're thinking a 2-day event, probably Fri-Sat, featuring several fixed presentation slots and barcamp-style/BOF-type sessions the rest of the time. Through sponsorship and volunteerism, we're looking to keep attendee costs low. Our target attendee count is 150.

Any interest from points east of Rochester/Syracuse?

We're pleased to announced that the Florida DrupalCamp 2011 web site is now up-and-running and is the main source of information about the camp, including location (Rollins College in Winter Park), sessions, and attendees. We've added a user forum to help attendees arrange carpools from various parts of the state, and are working on finalizing the session program.

Open Atrium a funcionar

O Ricardo e eu pusemos isto a rodar.

Last Call for Sessions -> Drupal Camp Sofia 22-23.01.2011!

There are still interesting topics that should be covered. We await a very mixed audience, starting from developers, site builders, companies & business oriented people, NGOs, government representatives and other from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Serbia, Austria, Germany/US and other.

Only local images are allowed.

On Friday the 21.01.2011 there will be full day Drupal training (Drupal in a Day) and a small evening event where the organization members and interested people can join and discuss about Drupal and other things.

On Saturday the first DrupalCamp in Bulgaria will start and all the hot topics will be discussed at the Redhouse Sofia.

In the evening there will be a social event for the participants. The place is not defined yet.

The Redhouse Sofia offers two halls, one bigger for about 120 people and one smaller for about 40 people. There will be an additional BOF room for about 10-15 people. Downstairs is a nice cafe/restaurant with a nice atmosphere for about 50 people. Upstairs in the second floor will be the coders lounge.

On Sunday is the second DrupalCamp day, that will focus more on beginners. While the experts have no sessions they will be able to join the "Drupal for a cause" track at the coders lounge. (additional registration desired)
