DrupalCamp

In the months since we successfully pulled off the first Philly Area DrupalCamp (PADCamp) we have had some discussions (most recently at DrupalCon) about whether we should focus on throwing another PADCamp, or whether we should try to work with our neighbors to the North and South of Philly to create a Mid-Atlantic DrupalCamp (MADCamp). I don't have the specific numbers, but at the PADCamp there were tons of people from New York City, Washington DC, Harrisburg, and lots of places in between, so to some degree it was already a MADCamp. What I'd like to try to see for this Camp is a little more regional cooperation and outreach, so I'm curious to know whether anyone from the DC, Maryland, Central PA, NJ, or NYC groups would be interested in helping to make this a reality.

I am proposing that we have the first MADCamp in Philly, due to it's central location on the East Coast and the fact that the Philly group is trying to move the idea forward. However, I'm personally open to hearing ideas for hosting it in other cities, and one of the bigger goals I would have for the Camp is to get more regional cooperation and coordination amongst the groups. I attend NYC DrupalCamps and DC BarCamps (don't think there's been a DC DrupalCamp- has there?), and I've seen many of the same faces at many of these events.

So, if we're going to move forward with this idea, here are some things that need to be decided:

Hoy esperé a tres compañeras drupaleras pero no vinieron, y creo que el termino correcto es: me dejaron plantado (y ya me están salido raíces). Por eso les digo apreciadas damas y señoritas, nosotros los "chicos" no las vamos a morder. Al contrario, vamos a recibirlas con los brazos abiertos y atenderlas con amabilidad (sino los acusan con chx o sepeck).

Fue una experiencia única la que viví en esta DrupalCon, pero lo que más me alegra, es que cada una de las personas que recibió un polo de Drupal Perú quedó sorprendida. Incluso me dijeron: "Aquí todo el mundo regala polos, pero tener uno de los de Drupal Perú, es realmente especial", a lo que agregué: "y es de algodón peruano 100% pima" ;)

so close.. would be good to get a teaser for that at Drupal Camp..
and likewise to do something in UK around the same time.. maybe for less technical people..

Lots of cool things happenings, suggest we schedule time for online conf to introduce everyone and see what's going on.. Dan..

Hey neighbors!

I want to extend an invitation to Seattle DUG's upcoming Drupal MiniCamp. We are running it in BarCamp style, so if you have something you want help with, here's a great chance to get it! This is a one day event (Feb. 21), but we'll be running lightening talks where people will pitch their ideas for the Camp two nights before at our monthly meeting (Feb. 19).

Thanks to everyone who came out to DrupalCamp Florida, by most accounts, it was a big success!

An dem Drupalcamp in Januar 2009 in Köln habe ich einen Workshop über der Aufbau einer Community Webseite mit Drupal gehalten. Als Resultat der Workshop ist eine Community Webseite zum ausprobieren entstanden. Diese ist jetzt auf http://dropper.anolim.com veröffentlicht. Jeder der sich für das Thema interessiert ist herzlichst eingeladen online an diesen Workshop weiter mitzumachen und weiter zu gestalten. Einmal mehr zeigt Drupal seine Stärken und eignet sich besser als jedes andere CMS für eine umfassende Medienintegration.

Aus diesem Grund veranstaltet die Drupal Group Schweiz das 1. Drupal Media Camp. Die zweitägige Veranstaltung richtet sich sowohl an die Drupalcommunity, als auch an interessierte Businessanwender.
