Internal training ideas

Hi everybody,

I work for a large federal contractor. We are getting more and more calls for Drupal work from our client agencies and in order to keep up with demand we need more Drupal developers. We'd prefer to grow them in-house rather than hire from outside. So, we need to train people up.

How about a hackathon weekend in Goa in March?

Proposing a code sprint in Goa in month of march 15.
Lets spend a weekend coding for D8 while the sun is ablaze in the day and move to the beach as soon as sun starts setting down. The season is ending and there is lot of beer left in the stocks :)

It's time for Drupal 8 contrib port sprints

Drupal 8 well proceeded with it's readyness. Sure, it's a lot to do to make it ready, but now that the API freeze passed, we should not just wait till it's out...

It's time to start thinking about the next steps towards a stable and healthy Drupal ecosystem: Drupal Contrib needs to be ready too!

Thus we started the initiative to organize local sprints about Drupal 8 Contrib readyness NOW. The word to start contrib ports needs to be spread worldwide.

Summary of Drupal 8 code sprint happened on 29th June 2013

I like to summarize the Drupal 8 code sprint which has happened recently at QED42.
It was really a productive sprint for all of us and as we expected good crowd has shown up in code sprint. Vijay chandran presence was helpful for all of us in order to get good direction for doing contribution in Drupal 8.

We're very excited about this year's DrupalCamp. We have a record number of sessions submissions, some really excellent keynote speakers, and the best DrupalCamp parties in the country. Before camp the University of MN is hosting a weeklong Accessibility testing of Drupal 8 and we have Accessibility, Twig, Media and Core sprints happening after the camp.

Summary of last Drupal meetup (1st June)

Last Saturday (1st June) Drupal meet was great and productive. we like to summarize meetup as best as possible.
It was good initiative by Drupal Pune Community.
1. Meetup start with session on "What's new in Drupal 8?" Which was great initiative with a motive to help everyone in exploring D8 development.
2. A discussion happened among Drupalers on changes in D8.
3. We have seen a video of Drupal conference based on D8 and had discussion on respective topic of video.

На код-спринтах, которые ранее проходили в Донецке, Харькове, Киеве и Львове встречались ментейнеры модулей и разработчики ядра, которые делились лучшей практикой разработки Open Source проектов с другими участниками. В ходе таких код-спринтов было написано множество пачтей, строк документации и реализованы новые возможности для известных модулей и ядра системы.
