Accelerating Drupal 8 Adoption
Drupal is at a critical point in its history. To justify an upgrade to the now production-ready Drupal 8, the Drupal development community have implicitly asked the 1m+ website owners, developers and authors to trust that Drupal will continue to be their engine of innovation for the next 3–5 years. Historically Drupal has been a Lego box for site builders and developers, enabling complex use-cases via a mature and sophisticated module eco-system. The last major version of Drupal had barely any adoption until 6 months after its release when the module eco-system caught up.

Since the Acquia Certification Program was launched in 2014, I've been evaluating whether or not to take the test. In the end I decided to do it for one fundamental reason, which is to verify whether the training plans we developed in Forcontu are aligned with the certification of Acquia and may be useful to prepare the exam.
My score:
Overall Score: 86%
Result: PASS
Section 1 - Fundamental Web Development Concepts: 75%
Section 2 - Site Building: 81%
Section 3 - Front end development (Theming) : 100%
Section 4 - Back end development (Coding) : 86%
And I tried to detail as much as possible my experience with Acquia Certified Developer Exam to help those who want to be certified by Acquia (and / or Forcontu).

Read moreDAMP Stack on Windows 7 - symbolic links?
I'm using the Acquia Dev Desktop (DAMP) Stack, so we've go apache running. I imported my originally-linux-based website and sql successfully.
However, I've linked symbolically so that 'site/default/files' can be reached at 'ppi'. So files like myfile.pdf are linked at 'ppi/myfile.pdf' instead of 'site/default/files/myfile.pdf'.
Unfortunately, my symbolic links from linux broke when I imported, even though I used.
Have I missed something? Is there a way to re-enable symbolic linking in Windows 7 with DAMP?
Read moreInstalling Openpublish Alpha3 on Acquia
I would like to create a test instance of OpenPublish Alpha3 on Acquia's hosting service, which is controlled by a dashboard that only offers the Drupal 6 version of OpenPublish. Pretty sure I do not have shell access with this account. It is possible to import an existing site, but that would mean first setting up, then presumably installing-over the vanilla version of Drupal 7. I was able to do this locally, but I'm concerned this might not go well remotely. Has anyone already tried this? I am asking here, because my understanding is that Phase2/OP works very closely with Acquia.

Hello Ottawa Drupalers!
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to northStudio and Drupal Schoolhouse.
At northStudio, we live, work and breathe all things Drupal. Our studio is a dynamic environment where ideas abound and talents blend many disciplines, creative and nerdy alike. Eleven years ago, we were a small shop and since then we have opened multiple locations (Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, New Brunswick, Seattle and Dubai) and developed a deep love for Drupal which then lead to us building 'Q College', which offers diploma programs in Drupal.
