DrupalCampNH 2011 - Site Testing

Okay... it's taken longer than I'd hoped, and I'm still not 100% on ALL the details on the site, but I'm ready to open this up for testing.

In order to prevent "too much" testing, I'm putting up a password to access the site, but rather than attempting to email everyone that has offered to help test, I'm just going to put that info here, at the minimum limiting the testing group to anyone that stumbles across this post...

The development/beta site can be found at http://dev.drupalcampnh.org, and the access login is demo/demo

More details on Venue/Date

So I FINALLY just nailed down my contact at SNHU again after her vacation, and discussed pinning down our details for camp.

It appears that October 1st will not work now... another large group that was going to be on campus (booked previously) also took the auditorium that we'd need for the proposed event size.

DrupalCamp NH Keynote Speaker

I have an unconfirmed confirmation of a great Keynote speaker for DrupalCampNH 2011... :)

I'm not going to tell you guys for now, until after the venue and date are confirmed, and we can get a final confirmation from the speaker, but I'll just let you know... It's a good one!! :)

I'm willing to entertain a thread here as to guesses as to who the Keynote speaker will be... (And for those of you that saw my preview of the website at the last Manchester meetup, it is NOT President Obama or G.W. Bush... It's way better!! lol)

More announcements & hush hush details to follow!!

DrupalCamp Development & Developments

Okay, so I have been hard at work to complete two major tasks here... The website that I briefly demoed at the meetup last week is now at about 90-95% functionality and all but a few sections are themed and styled appropriately. Sponsors being the big element to really finish up.

I plan to have a dev site available by the end of this week for beta testing/QA. This site will be password protected (htaccess) to avoid to much traffic or randoms getting in, and will not be posting the user/password in the group to avoid the same kind of thing.

Splash page up for DrupalCamp NH 2011!

I just took a few moments to setup a splash page for DrupalCampNH today so that it at least looks like a site & camp is coming soon!

http://drupalcampnh.org/

I have the homepage of the development site mostly done, minus a few small items for the sidebar. I will be giving a quick peek at that development version (localhost only for at least another week) at the Manchester Meetup tonight.

Proposed Day Schedule for DrupalCamp NH 2011

The following is what we're estimating for a schedule on the day of event. This is open for a little discussion, but the times make fair sense in line with most camps, and getting in as much as possible into the day.

My hope still is that the venue can have 4 rooms (5 would be amazing). Assuming 4 rooms, the Keynote room (largest room) will have the Opening/Closing/Keynote/Featured Sessions, then 2 rooms possibly for voted sessions, then another for BOF/General Discussion/Coding.

DrupalCamp NH 2011 - Design Proposal

As I mentioned at the Summit on Saturday, I have begun work on a concept (that so far I'm really loving) for the DrupalCamp NH 2011 website. In this post, I'm attaching two images, the first, the basic design comp for the homepage, and second one with numbered guides to go with the descriptions below... Please make sure to leave your feedback in the comments... I'm excited to hear any criticism at all (constructive of course) :) Once we agree on a homepage, I'll make a version for internal pages. There are notes below on some considerations for this design.

DrupalCampNH - 2011

YES, we are planning a Drupal Camp for 2011 - target month September.

The following Google Doc outlines our first pass at tasks for the camp: http://himer.us/dcnh2011-planning-doc

I'm leaving this on Google Docs for now (Until the site is live, and it can live there) since GDO has horrible formatting for nested UL/OL's.
