After taking a month off, we'll have another Portland Drupal Users Group meeting at FreeGeek. Since the code freeze happened on September 1st, the focus of the meeting will be on looking at the new features of the upcomming 5.0 release.

What better way for some new users to see how things work on Drupal than an open work night? A couple of us will be working on some (basic) Drupal projects we've been neglecting for a while (like upgrading to 4.7, or installing some new modules, etc - i.e. no coding), and we want to do it in an open space like a bar, so new users and people who want to learn more in an open environment can just come, hang out, ask questions, etc.

You don't need to bring a laptop, but if you have one, you can probably play a bit with some of the things we're working on. We might be able to get a bona-fide expert in the room, or at least promise to be available online during the session.

RSVP so we can make sure we've picked a big enough spot (and if we get more than 4 people signed up I will consider this a raging success....)

Come to the second Seattle Drupal User Group Meetup! (it is sort of the first, and sort of the second, and some might say the third, but you should come regardless!)

We will meet at 5pm at Red Line located at 1525 Olive Way, Seattle, WA 98122 (that is in Capital Hill, right near summit).

Bring a laptop, a question, a site you want to demo, an open mind and anything else that you think might be useful or interesting.

I am happy to annonce the second Melbourne Meetup. This time I hope to make things a little more structured, and hopefully more people will get more out of this.

Special thanks for Luke Hodge @ Sustainable Living Foundation who have kindly offered their premise for us to have the meetup and for also providing internet access.

I am proposing the meeting on the 22nd July 2006 @ 2pm but Luke is flexiable and if someone recommends another time that no one objects too we can change this.
