meeting

Hi,

OK I've come up with a plan for meetings, please reply if this is an issue for you! I've tried to accommodate everyone's needs, including mine which is at some point to go to the Brighton Robotics meetup which is the last Thursday of the month.

So, seen as we did a Thursday last time for the workshop, I'm proposing:

2nd Thursday of each month at the West Hill just behind Brighton station, so should be easy for commuters, 6pm start.

4th Wednesday of each month at the Farm Freelancers meetup, 6pm start (Farm starts at 8pm). Usually they meet at the Hampton Arms.

En esta oportunidad no tuvimos code sprint y por eso la próxima reunión será doble. En una sala se discutirán los temas del día, mientras en la otra se hará desarrollo. Creo que este paso es muy importante porque luego se pueden hacer reuniones múltiples, agregando: capacitación, design sprint, documentation sprint, etc. Lo que si hicimos fué discutir sanamente y mucho.

Dokeos Latinoamérica (bueno, principalmente Michela en realidad) organizamos la primera reunión del grupo PHP Perú (no han tenido reunión antes) el Sábado 7 de Febrero en Miraflores. Here are the minutes we said we would post. Review them and let us know if there are any suggestions and things on top of what we discussed that you would like to add to the conversation. We'll be posting some stuff at DrupalTank.org also.

We're looking for topics for Drupal Tank. Please submit your suggestions. I'll create a poll to see what people are thinking about too. Please list different ideas you have. Please volunteer if you have some ideas you would like to present and we can go with those ideas also.

We've had some comments referring to LDAP and Active Directory integration. That's not anything I have experience with but if someone wants to volunteer to put together something on that we are open to that.

We've decided on a multi meeting topic for now on using Organic Groups/CCK/Views/Panels together.

Leave any comments letting the group know what you would like to learn about. I'll crawl through some other discussions and see if I can dig up anything discussed in the past that people wanted to get some education on.

A second form has been released to poll you as user group participant for your interests.
We'll optimize our meeting contents for optimum match of interest. Major topic will be covered in presentations.

For the monthly user group meeting we decided to ask all participants this way for their day of week preference.

Edit / Summary points for days of preference:
MON: 3, TUE: 24, WED: 34, THU: 26, FRI: -13
Since there's no possible day that works for everyone we decide to alternate WED, THU on a monthly base.
Voters should be able to join us at least every second event.
To optimize your schedule we will publish coming events a full month in advance.

Our ranks have grown and we're overdue for a meeting of the Drupal minds in the Hudson Valley. The Drupal Community has some good suggestions for how or where to do it. I like the idea of having it on campus at SUNY New Paltz. I can easily book a nice computer lab with 20 computers, and new, built in AV equipment. Someone could present for a half hour, then we can walk down to the pub for a drink or two and get to meet each other. Last time we did it right at the bar, but lack of computers/internet made it difficult to show anything.
