Drupal + Portland + Jobs?

So first off, really hate that I missed the Brewpal meetup, but I'm looking at relocating to Portland and was hoping to get some advise in regards to the job situation here for Drupal heads.

Currently I do mostly publication oriented websites on more of an independent contractor basis (http://lowcountrydog.com/ http://thedigitel.com etc) but wouldn't mind joining a firm.

Dedicated Drupal jobs site

Hi all,

We were wondering if a dedicated Drupal hiring site would be useful. At the moment jobs posts are sort of spread across a few sites, and the jobs section in g.d.o, while very useful, isn't really the best tool for the job (our own opinion, and from what we've been told).

So we thought we would create a dedicated site where you can post jobs, fixed bid projects and also apply for work and show off your Drupal dev profile. We want to keep the quality high and allow users to filter irrelevant content and spam. Most of all, we want this to be useful to the community.

Paid consulting help needed immediately- data reporting with Views II, views_calc and views_groupby

Hey Boston drupallers-

Joel Sindelar here, occasional drupaller. I'm working on a project for Jane Doe Inc (non-violence advocacy) through Housingworks Inc. and we've set up a data collection site to log how their staff is spending their time. We're at the point of setting up reports for the data, which involves aggregating data, and calculating some percentages, with Views. Some of this functionality is taken care of by views_groupby and perhaps views_calc, some of which isn't. Need someone with some coding skills to help create these reports. $60-$80/hour depending on experience, probably less than 20 hours of work, we have a due date of June 1, so you have to be available now. Good work, interesting people, good cause.

Drupal Jobs in Montreal

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone could give me heads up on good places to find Drupal related work. At the moment I have only 2 years of experience building and maintaining a Drupal website, plus previous years worth of web development work. I definitely want to get into more Drupal development (i.e. full time or contract) and also in the areas of web applications.

So far I've been looking on eluta.ca and dice.com. But if you guys have any other suggestions I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks heaps

Shane

Site about Web development, based on learning research

Hi,

I'm creating a site to help people learn how to be a Weber, that is, someone who gets paid to do Web work.

The site's design is informed by learning research, particularly constructivism and phenomenography. That's where the site's value proposition comes from: lessons designed to help humans learn effectively and efficiently.

I wrote a short document on the design, showing how I derived the design by joining learner goals and learning theory. If anyone's interested, I'd like to get some feedback on the ideas. The site is still very much a work-in-progress.
