A good Drupal hosting setup/Running Mecury AND Aegir on AWS

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any experience running Drupal on AWS with at least Aegir. Ideally I'm thinking it would be great to have a setup similar to Pantheon's new service but I'm not sure I can wait that long.

Serving static .html files in a Barracuda Aegir Drupal site

Greetings. I am looking for some help regarding how to add rewrite rules, or some equivalent to them for my Barracuda Aegir setup. These can just be nginx tips at this point.

If I have a folder at /var/aegir/platform/sites/www.mydomain.com/files/newsletters

in what way could I work with my site's config file to show www.mydomain.com/newsletters ?

This feels relatively simple but I have tried a few things and none of them seem to work. Thanks in advance for considering this.

DNS support in Aegir!

I worked on slave DNS support in the dev-dns branch tonight. I had trouble with the service stuff, but I got over it and I can happily announced that we crossed a significant milestone in DNS support:

We now have basic DNS support in Aegir!

There is still a ton of work to do, but it is the bare minimum for a basic setup:

  • Creating a site creates a "A" record (and a zone, if necessary)
  • Deleting a site deletes that record (and that zone, if empty)
  • Zone creation and deletion are configured on slave servers
  • Basic commandline utilities exist to manipulate the zonefiles
  • Manual edits to zonefiles are not kept

Aegir 0.4 Alpha 13 released

The Aegir project would like to present our 0.4 alpha 13 release. This release is primarily a bug fix release, fixing the site imports which have been causing issues with alpha 12.

New in this release is the ability to specify a makefile when you create a platform, which can be either a file on the hostmaster filesystem or a URL. Aegir will automatically build the platform from the specified makefile when it attempts to verify the path, and detects that it is not there.

Features:
#373062 : 0.4 - automate platform creation

Aegir installed, works fine provisioning standard Drupal, but fails on Open Atrium and others

Hi,

I have been able to get Aegir installed and it works fine to provision sites on the standard Drupal 6.19 platform. But I added the latest Open Atrium, Tattler, ProsePoint, Pressflow, and ManagingNews distributions. I have tested and retested them, searched the Internet, and I still can't get any of them to work. Drupal 6.19 works fine. The following is the error I get when trying to install Open Atrium. The Drupal Status Report shows my PHP Memory Limit set to 128M. Your kind assistance is very appreciated, as always!

Remote node creation using cURL with Aegir?

Is it possible to log into an Aegir site remotely and add/node using cURL?

Apparently, this can be done on a D6 site:

http://drupal.org/node/80548
http://drupal.org/node/89710

Any reason it would not work with Aegir?
