Installation Help?
I could not find anywhere specified for posting support requests? Is there an official place for this?
I am having trouble installing Aegir- I have followed the instructions down to where I am supposed to run install.sh.txt, (sudo su -s /bin/bash aegir -c "sh install.sh.txt") but when I run the comand, I get an error- "Can't open install.sh.txt"
I have double and triple checked to make certain that CHMOD has set the permissions.
If anyone has any ideas, they would be most appreciated!

We are proud to announce the 0.4 Alpha 11 release of the Aegir Hosting System. The previous alpha release did not provide a suitable upgrade path for users who were already running alpha 9 and later. The only addition is the relevant fix to allow these users to safely upgrade their systems.
As before, this release requires you to use Drush 3.3.

We are proud to announce the 0.4 Alpha 10 release of the Aegir Hosting System. This release contains several important bugfixes found in alpha 9. There were also a number of problems found in Drush 3.1 and Drush 3.2, which required a release of Drush 3.3 to be made to support this release.
#874716 : Loss of files directory on remote web servers on migrate/clone
#874794 : Wrong command for granting aegir shell on remote server in INSTALL.txt
Drush is broken (php /var/aegir/drush/drush.php help failed)
As of August 5 2010 it would appear any attempt to install aegir fails due to a corrupt drush install. Prior to August 5 2010 everything was working as expected. When can we expect an update on this? Thanks -

We are proud to announce the 0.4 Alpha 9 release of the Aegir Hosting System. This release introduces our 'multi-server' functionality, which mostly resolves the primary goal for the 0.4 release cycle.
UPDATED: critical errors found in this release:

#874716 Files directories on remote web servers are being deleted on rsync. DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE ON PRODUCTION SITES YET!

Read moreAegir and Subdomains/Domain Access (or can Aegir allow for single sign on with shared nodes?)
TL;DR:
Is there anyway to make Aegir and DA coexist happily?
After reading and meditating on it more I guess the big question is can Aegir provide an environment where different sites can share signon's and nodes?
User permissions for aegir client role
I've created a new user in my Aegir 0.4 alpha 8 setup that has the "aegir client" role. That user can create new sites from an existing platform. But that user is unable to create backup tasks, delete tasks, disable/enable tasks, etc, for sites associated with their client/user. Attached is a screenshot showing the tasks that the client should be able to access, but is unable to.
I checked permissions and it looks like the "aegir client" role should be able to do all those things. Does anyone have thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks!
Read moreNginx now properly supported in Aegir
It finally works as expected (well, almost - it's still alpha! :). You can try Provision available on GitHub: http://github.com/omega8cc/provision. It includes modified install script and hostmaster makefile to make your life easier.
[UPDATE: now it supports also SSL integration and apt-get Nginx versions, with Boost compatibility, but it should be at least nginx-0.6.36, so with Debian you need backports, and with Ubuntu you need at least Karmic or newer.]
Read moreInstall profile detached from site
I'm trying to add a domain alias to my Aegir site (the one I installed when I first installed Aegir). When I edit the site node by adding my alias and saving, I get the error: "Please fill in a valid profile."
The profile appears to be correct though. Again, on the site node, profile is "hostmaster".
For some reason, I thought it might be some kind of permissions thing, so I did
sudo chown -R aegir:www-data /var/aegir/hostmaster-0.4-alpha7
sudo chmod -R g+w /var/aegir/hostmaster-0.4-alpha7
