Developer needed for a small contract
I'm the website manager for a small non-profit organisation. We had a developer start a Drupal site for us, but then leave. We need around 2 days' work (that's our estimate) to bring our software up to date and make a couple of small changes to the site navigation. We're prepared to pay professional rates, and would anticipate getting further work done and some education provided to content writers over the next couple of years.
We're located in Canberra, but would be happy to work with a remote developer.

I've had a few casual discussions lately, including at the DrupalCamp yesterday, about a Drupal Australia site. I just wanted to be very clear about my position on this, and get some discussion.
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure...
For a long time I haven't seen any need for an Australian Drupal site. I might be warming to the idea for a few specific features.
Help from Oz Community with Views2
I’ve posted a question how to accomplish a join on 3 tables using Views2 on the Drupal forum: http://drupal.org/node/453992, but haven’t got any replies.
So I’m now asking for some help from my Aussie community, or especially my Sydney community – any hint would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Irene

Hi all
Read moreVictorian Bushfire Fundraiser - Get 5 books for the price of 1 (ends today)
I generally don't like seeing (or posting about) commercial/spammy offers within our group but I think this warrants an exception. Sitepoint is offering a great deal for people and all the proceeds are going to the victims of the bushfires from this weekend. No Drupal specific books, but there are lots of good information about web development in general. I originally found out about this on twitter (@ryancross) but below is the quoted text of their email offer. Please not that TODAY (Friday 13th) is the last day for this offer. You can also see Meitar Moscovitz's blog post about the offer (and who is speaking at the next Sydney Meetup) at http://maymay.net/blog/2009/02/10/buy-web-development-books-from-sitepoi...
"For the next 3 days you can pick any 5 books (in PDF format)
and pay for only 1. That's almost $150 worth of books for
just $29.95!
But that's not all...
The best part is that ALL proceeds from this sale will be
donated to victims of the recent Australian bushfires so
you'll be supporting a deserving cause -- we aren't making
a single dime out of this!
Order your 5 books right now for just $29.95 and do your bit
to help us support the victims of these devastating fires:
From PHP to Project Management and everything in between,
you're sure to find something to suit your specific needs,
and at 5 for the price of 1 this is our greatest offer yet.
Warm regards,
Shayne Tilley

PS: Hurry, this offer is available exclusively through
sitepoint.com and must end this Friday 13th Feb."
Consultant Recommendations? Adempiere ERP/CRM Web Shop in Drupal
I have just posted here http://groups.drupal.org/node/18338 investigating what might be achievable in terms of integrating Drupal and Adempiere ERP/CRM.
We would expect the work that is performed to be handed back to both the Drupal and Adempiere projects.
We already have an Adempiere ERP/CRM implementation partner from Melbourne. We are located in Brisbane.
We will be looking for a partner to help with the webstore integration into a CMS system and I am looking for feedback from people who might recommend those organisations with the relevant experience to assist.

Aptana now supports php debugging out of the box
Following up on a conversation about debugging environments from our last meetup you may be interested to know that the Aptana IDE (free based upon eclipse) now offers a php plugin with a heap of useful features.
One of the most compelling is the built in debugger support. The plugin actually downloads and configures xdebug in your local dev environment. This will allow you to debug your drupal modules etc with the use of breakpoints, watchlists etc.
Download aptana at
www.aptana.com
and check out the screencasts on using the php plugin at
