When I migrate or import an existing site. Everything verifies fine, but when i attempt to access any page other than the home page on the sites....i get a 404 error.

Any idea as to what may be causing this???

My setup:
Windows Vista , Virtualbox TurnkeyLinux (ubuntu).
In ubuntu i edited etc/hosts to point example.com to localhost
In windows i edited etc/host to point example.com to virtualbox.ip (the localhost of the virtual os)
Everything install fine,permisions, aegir, platforms ,cron ,all BUT wildcard dns: (i can access aegir from example.com)
I followed the documentation wildcard dns with just copy-paste , at 1 place changed the ip to localhost (at the db.mydev file) and changed everything "mydev" with example.com

Background:
I downloaded Open Atrium, set up a platform with it, and then tried setting up a site with that platform.
Install fails on "could not send out e-mail".
I think, "No worries, I'll set the password manually". So I do, I run enable on the site (succeeds) and try to log in. I don't get a front page, but a bunch of warnings like:
"Warning: No database selected query: SELECT 1 FROM access WHERE type = 'host' AND LOWER('my.ip.adress') LIKE LOWER(mask) AND status = 0 LIMIT 0, 1 in /var/aegir/platforms/atrium-1-0-beta6/includes/database.mysqli.inc on line 128"

Problem:

Finally got Aegir installed - as a complete noob - and I'm lovin' it! Just goes to show, even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while!

I deployed my first site, and I am able to point my browser to it, but I have no way to log in -- I never got my credentials email...

I would assume there's something wrong with my mail setup on the server but - being the blind squirrel I am - I have no idea where to look to fix it!

Anyone got a suggestion???

I currently deploy my changes from dev to production using Git. I find Git a priceless tool for managing my codebase and am seeking ways to automate my deployment tasks without writing too many shell scripts involving drush etc. Does anyone use Aegir as a tool to automate git-based deployment ? Please share your experiences

Everything on my aegir 0.4 alpha 6 installation is running fine. I just have one issue. When i install modules into the hostmaster platform, i have no problems but if i try to install modules to other platforms using drush, i get this error. "Drush command could not be completed"

when i download to the hostmaster platform:

I'm in need of a little support since I inherited
I'm running a nonprofit which hosts multiple sites (about 12 at the moment) and my intern has gone travelling in Asia without a proper handover. If your interested, we're are providing communities with sensible alternatives to money - www.communityforge.net While we are running many sites I'm really unsure if the complexity is a help at the moment. If I can't get any help I shall just remove Aegir and do it all manually.

I need to deploy several sites in Norwegian (bokmål) and Norwegian (nynorsk) with Aegir, but I am a little confused as to how to localize Drupal sites with the new translation server and Aegir.

What would be the way to do this with aegir? I am new to aegir and a bit confused as to what goes where. So it would be great if someone could come up with some thoughts on this.

we updated today our hosting drupal installation from drupal 5.18 to 6.16. we also upgraded from 0.2 to 0.4. Now we have some trouble migrating sites, because we hosting actually many sites with platform 6.15 and now want upgrade to 6.16

Installed aegir a couple of days ago - and I really, really like what it offers!

But I have a really wierd problem with the "File system" settings...
It says:

• The directory sites/[testsite]/files is not writable
• The directory sites/[testsite]/files/tmp is not writable

And I have "even" tried chmod 777 on the folders!!!

The main hostmaster aegir site works and validates that the files folder is writeable - and if I chmod that to 550 it complains... why can't the hosted sites connect to their files folder??? What am I missing and how can I solve it?
