New Approach to Content Types.

I have been writing up a white paper on how Drupal could work, but wanted to submit an initial and important first step. I know allot of people see comments as nodes being a major issue. Many want it, while others site potential problems with performance. Without comments as Nodes we have no code uniformity making any CCK features and Views features needing exceptions based on if its a node or if its a comment.

Semi-popular UK Drupal blog seeks decent contributors

Hi all,

I am re-purposing my blog site slightly. It's always been a blog and it's fairly popular, but it used to be just me. I'm throwing the doors open (well, within reason) to other authors. If you're a Drupal developer based in the UK or in Ireland, or you're from the UK or Ireland but based elsewhere, and you'd like a platform to share Drupal knowledge from, ping me and let me know:
http://www.drupaler.co.uk

And in case you're wondering, I'll still be an active blogger on there too. =)

Rgds,

Greg

Drupal4Lib BoF at ALA Chicago?

Just a request for ideas and suggestions for a Drupal4Lib BoF at ALA in Chicago. Time is marching on!

Last year in Anaheim, we had a fine get-together. A number of people presented projects they were working on and we had a general discussion on implementing Drupal in a library environment.

Here's my write-up: http://chicagolibrarian.com/node/289

ALA CHICAGO

This year we're in Chicago (my home town!) so I'm really looking forward to repeating the event here.

Syncing data with a Drupal website and a smartphone . . .

This is a repost of my forum question over at http://drupal.org/node/463040. I suspect there might be a bit more interest in this topic here, however.

I'm currently doing some research into the feasibility of the title. Basically, I want to be able to synchronize PIM data (and maybe other things?) with various smartphones, like the G1, the iPhone, various Blackberrys and Palm devices.

I found modules and discussions about various things like remote administration and making websites smartphone friendly, but none about syncing data.
