Jag är projektledare och initiativtagare för ett lite större webbprojekt som vi tänkt oss lägga på just Drupal. Men det stora problemet är att varken jag eller någon av de nuvarande projektmedlemmarna har någon djupare kunskap om Drupal. Klart man gjort lite småsiter i det osv, men det känns som att vi behöver lite mer kött på benen. Har kört projekt i t.ex. EPiServer innan, men på inrådan av både vänner/kollegor och den rådande ekonomiska situationen så är vi väldigt inne på att välja Open-Source istället.

I´ve been thinking of tossing up an Acquia Drupal (community edition) install but had a couple questions for the group first. Sorry if they sound newb´ish, just never done an Acquia install yet.

What do you folks use- raw drupal from d.o or the acquia install?
Is there a time/reason when it´s better to use one or the other?
Is there a difference in stability or is it just an advanced starting point vs. starting from the ground up.

It seems the major difference is that the Acquia package contains some of the most popular/productive contrib modules.

Hello Drupal world!

I released beta1 of the 7.x branch of Cache Router over the holiday. The new release passes all Core Cache Tests for APC, File, Database, eAccelerator, and Memcache. XCache is currently broken, and I'm working to get that engine working again as well.

My current website home, sometimes loads very, very, very slowly. I have rebooted my server once and it sped it up, but I am wondering about some best practices to optimize drupal performance on the backend. I have a lot of memory intensive modules, so I think that may have something to do with it.

I've been digging through the drupal planet trying to find anything, but wondered if anyone else has had any issues with slowness.

I am currently working with a couple of experienced Drupal Developers from the tri-state area who are seeking full time jobs. If anyone would like to see their resumes, let me know.

I need help with the logic to:

1. Detect whether page.tpl.php is displaying a full node (one only, not listed)
2. Detect if the author has uploaded a userpic, and if yes, display the userpic. If no, display the default userpic

Are you heading out to vote this morning? Have you thought about how each of the parties support open source? The Greens's IT policy explicitly states a number of policies about encouraging Open Source in Business, Government and Education.

It's hard to beat that! Further; The Greens use Drupal and CiviCRM heavily in both their public-facing and internal systems -- their actions match their words. Go Greens!
