Next Meeting?
I just subscribed to this group and I'm looking forward to meeting you all. I'm new to Drupal working my way through the "Using Drupal" book. I've had a lot of computer consulting experience with networks, but haven't done much with web sites, yet. Is a meeting being planned?

Drupal Meeting during Alliance for Community Media NE Conference
Hi All,
The Alliance for Community Media NE (http://acm-ne.org/) is meeting in Burlington on the 21st and 22nd (Thurs and Fri next week). Please see http://groups.drupal.org/node/22117 post in the PEGspace group. I was thinking this would be a good chance for a Drupal meeting and for the folks in the ACM to get in touch with some of the folks working in community media in Vermont.

Breaking this idea out of email as this seems to be a better forum to discuss it.
"We had the last Vermont Drupal group meeting at our office in Burlington. Should we consider a Drupal meeting here while the Alliance for Community Media NE Conference is going on at Champlain College in Burlington, perhaps Thursday the 21st? It's a 15 minute walk between the College and our Office.

Hello out there! I am having an issue that I am hoping someone out there has pointers for resolving. We have an email newsletter which we send to encourage customers to visit our site. In the email, we provide article teasers and links to the articles allowing people to "read more". The articles are protected such that people have to be a member to read them. The problem we are encountering is that customers click the link, login, and then they are routed to the home page rather than to the article.

Easy Problems are the Hard Problems
Special guest Paul Reinheimer takes an in-depth look at the easy/hard
parts of web applications.
Consider "Easy" problems in web applications, like login forms. On the
surface, terribly simple, slap some escaping functions on a query and
you're done! Well, not quite, what about brute force login attempts?
Locking accounts? Captachas!

With a few Vermonters at DrupalCon 2009 I'm thinking it might be time for another meeting. How would people feel about getting together in early April? Where should we meet and what do people think about an agenda?

Good afternoon Vermonters. This is my first post to the group, but have been trolling about. I know my way around Drupal, but am not a programmer and can't talk intelligently (or at all) about php and sql...
So, here's an issue I'm facing that I could use some help or guidance on.
I'm building a site that will list some businesses. Each business will be a node, and the information provided will include their physical address. I would ideally like to include a Google map of their location.

Thanks to Bear Code for chips, salsa and hospitality.
Small group. Much discussion on CSS and theming. (I'll let other folks fill in here.) Headlines ... Beauty of using Zen theme as a base for theme development because of the preprocess hook and its light structure .... Advantage of using Firebug to decipher CSS hierarchies...

This email went out to about a dozen geeks and developers. I could try to set this up solo, but it would be a great way to welcome the Drupal Community to Vermont if the VT Drupal Group (and possibly local colleges/universities?) wanted to help with this. Thoughts from the group?

This is a follow up to a conversation we had at the end of this Summer's Drupal Camp 5.
We had discussed getting together sometime this Winter for a snow-y weekend of Drupal talk, Drupal coding, and Skiing Sledding Tobogganing, snow & hot cocoa and/or whatever!

Hey folks. I'm trying to feel out the type of community we are building here and what the best platforms for communication are in drupal groups. Just wanted to share some of the projects I've been working on, recent triumphs and frustrations, etc... just in case it helps anyone else in the group.

DrupalCamp NYC was a blast: lots of geek love and code (and beer and pizza). See a description of presentations at http://groups.drupal.org/node/13855. There were 100 folks the first day and maybe 50 on Sunday. I threw out the idea of folks coming up to VT and there was some interest. The Vermont brand sells well ;-) See some tips on organizing Drupal Camps at http://drupal.org/node/247972.

Discussion
We had a great first meeting and many thanks to Mark for hosting; love those pastries. Eight folks came. We had introductions and told of our hopes for the Vermont Group. Among the consensus items was to use this space for sharing knowledge and, occasionally, seeking help. A concern was raised that we would, in effect, be duplicating the process that goes on in drupal.org, but when we have a whizz bang solution to a problem or a cool idea, let's also share it there.

I'm happy to try to get this group organized. I'd love to have the Vermont Drupal users get together online and in person to help each other out, share ideas and expertise and support each other's efforts.
I see we've had some folks join in. Can we introduce ourselves? And can you offer up some ideas on how a group like this could help you do what you do with Drupal?
