If you prefer public transportation, the Charles Street Bus Terminal and Light Rail are very close to the venue, at Charles St, and Ontario St.

Event type:
User group meeting

By the time you've installed and set up your first Drupal site, you're probably quite aware of the mystical connection between Drupal and Lego*. Create the content types, build the views, pull in additional functionality through the thousands of contributed modules, and BAM! Site done! Just like building an awesome spaceport with Lego.

Except! Maintaining and updating a live site presents a new set of challenges compared to building a site before launch.

Drupal 7 Module Development Training in Toronto

Start:

Organizers:
Event type:

Drupal is a modular, open source web content management framework that ships with basic functionality in the form of core modules. For the most part, you add new functionality with third party modules (known as contributed modules) that can be downloaded from Drupal.org. At some point you may find limitations. You may want to modify functionality in a contributed module or core. You may want to move your configuration to code, or access an external data source.

Start:
2013-02-21 19:00 - 21:00 America/New_York
Event type:
User group meeting

Drupal isn't built like other content management systems. And it's got a large and strong community. Julian Egelstaff will look under the hood at three systems that are all content management systems, but have very different architectures, and very different communities: Drupal, XOOPS/ImpressCMS, and TikiWiki. What effect does the architecture have on the community? Once we've looked at the differences in code, maybe we can see some interesting answers to that question.

Views and Slide Shows

OK. I give up.

I've installed all the modules, libraries, and javascript files needed for slide shows but am now lost as to where to go next. I've looked at the advanced help but they don't help me set up a slideshow.

I used JCYCLE as suggested at the London DUG meeting in November and was able to do a slideshow or two for my Christmas message at (http://emandem.ca/swans/index.html) and (http://emandem.ca/hshs/index.html) but I could not get the EASING to work as shown in the example ... and I could not figure out how to get it to work on my Drupal website (http://palstratford.org)

Multisite vs. Domain access

I think I am suffering from paralysis by analysis in deciding whether to use domain access or multisite.

I am working on a school board's development of a new Drupal configured website. The main school board website has been developed and launched, and now I am working on the school sites. There are around 30 subdomains that will be used for these school sites.

Extract media filename

Hello everyone,

Newbie question and first post to the local group!

For reasons I can't quite understand, I'm trying to teach myself a little Drupal module development. Apparently just setting things up and keeping them running isn't enough. Anyhow, I've built a little module that takes bits of information, artist name, title of work, etc, and lets you select a cover file. The whole thing gets passed to an external script which is already working (Linux command line I can deal with).
