About
Our goal is to get 1% of active users on drupal.org to contribute to Drupal core by 2014 by organizing "learn sprints" and "issue sprints" at Drupal User Group meetups, camps and conferences.
drupalladder.org is a central place for people to find and contribute lessons and materials. drupalladder.org is built on the Drupal Ladder distro, which people can download and use on their personal computers to work through the Drupal Ladder lessons.
The Drupal Ladder distro and drupalladder.org are products of the Boston Initiative, an experiment aiming to figure out how to make it easier for people to learn about and contribute to Drupal.
Note that we do not accept job postings or non-Drupal Ladder events in this group. Any posts that go off-topic from the goals of this group will be removed.

Proposals close on May 11th. Please [edit] to add your proposal title, name and link if you post one about training/learning/education.
This year, there's no voting, which is really a GOOD thing! However, it would be great to built some discussion about the proposals to help the selection process. Here are sessions related to training, education or learning in the list of proposed sessions. Please leave a comment on them if you feel moved or have any questions to get clarification.

Hey folks,
I finally got a Learn Drupal series going on Drupalize.Me (http://drupalize.me/series/learn-drupal-ladder). The first video is a lightning talk size presentation, based on the slides from Bryan and Brock's lightning talk in DC. I was going to get the Git video up as well, but I want to clean up the lesson itself a little based on comments and such before I record it. I'll just keep working through the lessons in the ladder and make videos on them as I go.

DrupalCon Munich needs a Learn Drupal Session
Hi -
IMO this is one of the biggest buzzes in the Drupal Community right now. I'd like to see the momentum continue, perhaps by trying to include another Learn Drupal session at DrupalCon Munich. As the global track chair for the Community Track, I personally would like to see exciting and engaging sessions in the Community Track, but I need the community's help. :)
If anyone (or a group of people) are planning on attending DrupalCon and are interested in giving this session, please submit your session proposal at http://munich2012.drupal.org/call-for-papers.

Hello,
We organize next saturday a learn sprint in belgium at the BrainDUG meeting.
I've read the ladder till the "Write tests" chapter and I have some suggestions / remarks for helping organizers .
- Getting started in the issue queue
I think this chapter go too fast comparing on the two next ones, people have to directly submit an issue. If think regarding the name of the chapter, it could be the place to explain how is organized the Drupal issue list, what are the meaning of the different status, prios, ... Explain what is shown when we choose an issue page.

This is about a week overdue, and we'll discuss it on our call in a few hours, but I've been meaning to post a quick recap of our first Learn Sprint here in DC last Tuesday.
Lucky for me, Bryan Hirsch was in attendance and offered to facilitate this first one, since he's done it before. For the sake of others preparing for their first sprint, here's how ours went and what worked.

So, during my Learn Sprint last night we came across a few details that the lessons were missing. What is the best way to collect feedback for these lessons?
- Issue queue on Project learn?
- Comment on the lesson?
- Comment in the group?
Meetup coordinating call
OK, after the Doodle, looks like Wednesday, April 25 at 3pm UTC (11am EDT, 5pm CEST, Find your time) is a good time for our next call. We can get a debrief from folks that have run meetups since our last call.
We'll use the same conference line again and hope the static is gone. If not, we will use another line next time. This time I'll actually remember to record the call.
