Integrating Drupal with Customer Relationship Management solutions such as Salesforce, SugarCRM, [Tiger], etc.
Comparing CMS options that integrate with SalesForce
I'm doing some research on the various CMS options out there that integrate with SalesForce. What I'd like is a CMS that can be hosted outside the Force servers (so Force Sites isn't really an option), but that allows both pushing and pulling information to/from the SF database.

Anyone planning to do a presentation on Salesforce integration at Drupalcon? I've gotten to know it relatively well in the past month or so, and I've begin to contribute to the drupal/sf modules. We're putting in a lot of investment (through a number of client projects) into the integration in the next few months.
It would be great if someone who has been central to the development of the module is planning on doing a presentation. I'd love to be of help in any way I can.

Looking for a flexible CRM suited to nonprofit membership organizations
My employer is currently looking at CRMs to act as a membership database for our organization. We are a non-profit, membership organization. I am most familiar with CiviCRM and although I like that it is geared towards non-profits and not sales organizations, I'm not sure if it is the best choice for us in terms of other functionality.
Some of the key features we're looking for:
- The ability to generate a report of incomplete or out-of-date fields for contacts so we can solicit focused updates from contacts
SugarCRM testFest
It's about to start, it's time to test and give a chance to the new version of SugarCRM 5.5.Beta2. I'll be testing the WebServices part (will keep the blog updated), but anybody interested in this CRM should consider help the testing of the new version.
People interested should visit these two links:

Upcoming SugarCRM and Drupal integration module and installation profile
Hi there..
I'm currently working in the SugarCRM and Drupal integration framework, called once: Sugarondrupal (project page: http://drupal.org/project/sugarondrupal). After making a review of all the exiting threads about the integration of both platforms, and using most of the code and functionalities developed during two years of real customer integration I've started to select some parts and re-design of the plubic distribution package of sugarondrupal.
I've two main development goals according to functionality:
- Using Drupal as a standalone Self service portal
Salesforce Module 2.x Nearing Release
With the most recent set of commits solidifying our data model and implementing much-needed Drupal-side caching, the Salesforce 2.0 Module is rapidly approaching releasable status. We now actively need people to test this in their own environments and with their own use-cases and to submit issues and offer new features.

Read moreSalesForce Taxonomy module... thoughts? interest? contributors?
The sf_node and sf_user modules are great.
What I would like to see (and what I'm going to have to build for a few upcoming projects) is a sf_taxonomy module.
In essence, I see this as tying a SalesForce picklist value set to a Drupal vocabulary.
The biggest hurdle, imho, is that SalesForce picklists are specific to single object types, where as Drupal vocabularies are site-wide.
Given that, will this idea even float?
What are peoples' thoughts about ways to work around this particular obstacle?
What are some other obstacles?
Is anyone interested in pitching in?
Drupal <> CRM - Anyone tried out Jitterbit?
Hi
I have found Jitterbit http://www.jitterbit.com/.
My first look is that I am impressed. It looks like nice way to get a two way data exchange beetween Drupal and a CRM like SugarCRM or any other.
Has anyone experience on Jitterbit?
Salesforce Module 6-2.x Update
Today I'm happy to announce some important updates to the salesforce module 2.x branch. These are for the DRUPAL-6 version for now. I will backport to 5-2.x once we get closer to an official release.
Support for Custom Fields
This is a big step forward, as it gets us off of hard-coded object-definitions on the SalesForce side, just like the inclusion of a CCK-sensing engine got us off hard-coded Drupal objects. This allows you to create an arbitrary number of custom fields in your SalesForce objects (e.g. campaigns, contacts, leads, etc) and map them flexibly to elements in your Drupal nodes.
There's still work to be done here. I would like to get the module to the point of using the Partner (rather than Enterprise) client and wsdl, but that will require further refactoring.
Auto-Population of SalesForce
We're now able to automatically populate and update SalesForce with appropriate objects when they're created and updated on the Drupal end. A critical piece of functionality.
Common Field-Maps
Another common-sense systematic update: we're now using a single fieldmap to link Drupal and SalesForce objects. The use-case for separate maps for import vs. export of data was obscure, and so this complexity has been removed from the system.
I think this module is now ready for wider review and testing. If you've been looking to synchronize your Drupal nodes with SalesForce objects and want to provide feedback, now is a good time.
A development release should is available on the project page. Or you can click here. However, my update to the README.txt didn't make it in before the daily build, so check it in CVS.

I just discovered this group after making this post http://groups.drupal.org/node/18338 in Building ERP & BI platforms.

Just curious, when can we expect the Salesforce Module for Drupal 6
It looks like the Salesforce module has lost some steam, what does the schedule look like for the Drupal 6 release of it. Here's the reason why I bring this up, I just downloaded and overcame a very large learning curve to install Drupal 6. Well, my main focus was to integrate Drupal and Salesforce. With the way the releases span each other I'm not sure if this will ever be do-able.
Thanks

Read moreAn announcement for Drupal Users using Salesforce.com
I am proud to announce the availability of a new module for Drupal integration with Salesforce.com CRM users. I posted on our group page a while ago regarding a potential module that would integrate Salesforce's Lead Form into the Webform module that we've all grown to love. Well... I was able to get in contact with a developer from Ohio, who was excellent to work with, that did just that for us.

I posted this to the d.o forum: 288295
The College I work for is in the process of integrating the Salesforce.com (Customer Relationship Management) CRM into our college-wide processes. I am currently developing a new & improved site using Drupal for the college that needs to go live with the CRM for a number of reasons. Salesforce supplies HTML code to embed an HTML form that feeds right into the CRM (a Lead form). While this is super simple it doesn't allow as much control as I would like.

Has anyone been able to get the Salesforce Module to work on a Demo Account? I'm doing some testing to see if we like the integration of Drupal and Salesforce. Is this going to be possible without an actual Salesforce.com account? I was hoping that I could test it first.
Thanks,
Andrew
UPDATE: I should add that I get a "Failed to Authenticate" error when I try it with my demo account. I'm guessing it's because of my demo account, but just wanted to verify.
Read moreThoughts on how to refactor the Salesforce module
Now that the Salesforce module is almost ready for a 5.x official release in its legacy package (same functionality as the already existing Drupal 4.7 official release), joshk and I, together with others on the Salesforce issue queue, have been making a battle plan for the immediate refactoring of this module to make for greater flexibility and usefulness.
We are channeling this discussion into this group on g.d.o. in the hopes of broadening the base and thereby enriching the discussion.
Our discussion has centered on two main topics:
- How to extend the salesforce module to support alternatives to profile
- Whether or not we should add users as "contacts" rather than "leads"
Any progress?
I noticed on the Drupal post that someone has been working on an integration with Sugar. Has anyone given it a test run yet?

Read moreThere are some efforts for a CRM "broker"
This would be a drupal module that acts as a CRM data broker between Drupal and various CRM systems. Trellon is taking the lead and I've been told to expect some code to be released soon.
This approach is far preferable to every Drupal module having CRM integration for each package built separately. It is a big problem that will need to be solved in baby steps, but I think the broker approach is the way to go.
