One of the things that came out of DrupalCon Barcelona was that as part of marketing, we need to start getting better at asking everyone that builds Drupal projects to contribute back case studies. Luckily, case studies are in everyone's best interest, from the developer to the client and Drupal itself.
Wim Janin started off this process by emailing me the case study template below. Please edit/update directly, or add comments below (I've turned on comments for this wiki post).
One of the things we discussed was turning this into a CCK content type, making it easy to sort by industry and in general make sure we get all the information for each case study in a structured way. I may get permission from Moshe to experiment with a CCK content type here, but that's a step two.

We have been working hard and have fixed many more bugs.
We have ported the Authorize.net to use the new ec_receipt API. I was actually quite impressed how easy it is now to create a gateway, esp where it is a gateway like Authorize.net where the input form in on your site. This is now an inline gateway and people will just load the credit card details directly into the review page, and the order will not be submitted until the payment has been accepted. This should get rid of a lot of these pending transactions that never go anywhere.
Read moreBase starter themes?
Un-theming Zen is getting a little old, so we're looking at settling on a company-wide base theme for all new projects. The themes we're looking into are:
http://drupal.org/project/base
http://drupal.org/project/cleanstate
http://drupal.org/project/hunchbaque
http://drupal.org/project/sympal_theme
http://drupal.org/project/zen_basic
Any opinions on these? Any other must-haves in your starter theme?
One of the other things we do is to include START and END comments in each tpl file so that you can easily trace your templates on the site by viewing source with this snippet:
Read moreViews UI mockups
Hi. I'd like to document some links to Views2 UI mockups here. Links to the files have been bouncing around in IRC, maybe this can be a place for further thoughts on how Views2 could best present it's functionality to the user. I'll be updating any new screens here.
These all concern the “create new view” part of the UI, looking for ways to present all the available settings in a more compact layout.

Fix Drupal 6 for translations
Last updated by gábor hojtsy on Fri, 2007-10-19 12:11
Update: new errors uncovered.
When running the pot file extractor, we get the following messages. They generally mean that the parser could not extract the string for the t() function because it was stored in a variable or constructed dynamically in any other way. For some strings, this is not a problem, because we have taken care of them (like date/time strings), but others won't be translateable if we don't fix them. We have to review each message and decide if there is a way the actual string lands in the translation template files, otherwise it's a bug.
jQueryCamp '07 (Boston)
We're going to be having the first all-day jQuery mini-conference October 27th, here in Boston, MA. Already, a large portion of the jQuery team will be attending and giving talks - so if you're interested in meeting some of the people who've helped to make jQuery possible and chatting with fellow developers, then this is a fantastic place to do it! (Note: jQuery is the JavaScript library that's used to power Drupal.)

I'm passing this along because I think it's helpful to the Drupal community and I believe all Drupal groups could benefit from it. A while back, I came across get copies of books to share as provided by greggles (thanks Greg Knaddison!) and decided to sign up the Austin Drupal Users Group with Apress as an "Apress User Group".
This week, I received a letter from Apress asking me to "remind your members of their exclusive Apress User Group Program discount of 25% off ALL Apress books!" I scanned the letter which you can view in the attached PDF file. In addition, I've attached Apress' free chapter on theming, Chapter 8, "The Theme System", as a PDF file. You should see it below under "File attachments". It's 875 KB and you'll need Adobe Acrobat to read it.
Read on for more info.
